Question:
I wanted to start a new thread as I was on the thread entitled 'Advice' when the question came up and didnt want to go all [sm=offtopic.gif]so thought I had better move here!
I read that Reiju, attunement, empowerment are all the same things just different names, I read that they do exactly the same thing and did not read that one you work at and one is an instant connection etc. The first I heard of this was on this HP forum so I wondered what everyone else has been taught, discovered or found during researching.
I was taught that Reiju is just the Japanese for attunement etc and that Usui Mikao always did Reiju when meeting up with students not out of necessity to keep the connection or that if he gave lots eventually a connection would happen but just that it built on the connection already forged and that it simply helps to add to what you have. Until today I had never heard that he had an original way to teach and then adapted a new one.
So guys.......your thoughts please
Hi Reikilight,
Yes I believe Reiju is just building on an already forged connection. It's not a case of one can only *do* Reiki after several empowerments over a length of time or anything. Attunements in our "want it now" society, does fit in well but it is up to the individual if they think it's better to have their new 'ability' built up bit by bit, taking it at their own personal spiritual pace, or if they just want it all at once. In my personal opinion, it's a bit like this ...(another bad analogy coming up lol...) If someone spent months learning how to drive practicing, having lesson after lesson, learning at their own pace, then this is like Reiju - having your new 'ability' built up bit by bit. As for the "attunement" part of the analogy...Ifyou wanted to learn how to drive within3 weeks, all of the lessons & practice could be crammed into that time, have it all thrown at you at once whether you are ready for it or not. Thedrivers test for each example could be passed, but which way would you prefer to learn? The question really is, how long you want to & are prepared to take on it all.
Here is an extract fro my RM's manual briefly explaning Reiju empowerments that I thought some people may find useful in understanding it more:
"Reiju is used for transmitting the Reiki ability to another person, and Hatsu Rei Ho is used to strengthen that connection and to purify the Reiki energy that passes through the student. Hatsu Rei Ho is begun as soon as the student starts training, and students would receive Reiju empowerments every week, to enhance their intuitive abilities and accelerate their spiritual development."I personally prefer Reiju than Attunements but please no one think that I am saying I think one is better than the other. At the end of the day, they both do the same job. Attunements were designed to be able to bypass the ongoing Reiju process. The connection rituals themslves are very different - Reiju is rather simple to give but attunements involve a rather long process (which took me a while to memorise lol) involving symbols after symbols.I've received both & I've given both & it really is down to personal preference. (Which is difficult as you dont really know which method you prefer until you've experienced both lol)My advice for someone who is trying to decide which way to go, would be to let your intuition guide you.Love & LightSSx
