Lash tinting - protection pads
Question:

Hiya,
Can anyone reommend a good method of protecting the eyes from tint on the skin?
I was taught to use lint fabric but I cant find it anywhere. Ive tried using the pre cut protector things from Sally but they don't seem to stay put and I've tried cotton wool pads halved but they seem to move around everywhere too!Does anyone else have the same problems?
Maybe its just me!! Any tips appreciated, Ta!

use vaseline around the eye under the cotton pads, it wil protect and stop the pads moving

Hi
What I do is apply vaseline with a cotton bud just above and below the eyelashes. Make sure you don't touch the lashes though as then the tint won't take.
Cover the pre-cut eyeprotector on one side with vaseline and then spray lightly with water, then position just under the eyelashes. This should stop the protector from moving and also protecting the eyes from any tint.
Hope this helps

Iusevaseline but for some reason the pads seems to move with the client blinking.
I have a client booked in tonght for lash and brow tint so will trythe protector pads again - didn't spray them with water though so will give that a go and see how I get on.

I just can't get on with those pre-cut ones. I just use round cotton pads, cut them in half, then split them in half so you're not using the full thickness. then put vaseline on the underneath and stick it on right up under the lower lashes. Then use a cotton bud to put some vaseline on the upper lid.
This is the best way I've found to stop the tint getting on the client's skin.
One day I will remember to wear gloves so the tint doesn't get in the cracks of my nails!!

I Do the same; but as we have problems with tint running sometimes I always go round and wipe the tint several times with a cotton bud. This catches it. Then I apply some more vaseline if I've wiped it all off. Better to be careful I think x
