Question:
Hello all
My partner is really interested in doing a Hypnotherapy course. This would preferably be to a standard where he could practice afterwards. He has been looking at various diploma courses, but there are so many different schools out there, it is hard to tell which are offering a standard which is recognised and which will really equip him to practice as a 'bona'-fide' hypnotherapist. Has anyone taken any courses they would recommend, or has ideas about the best route to take to achieve his goals? We live in London but distance learning is also definitley an option.
Any feedback gratefully received!
Many thanks
Claudette
'LCCH' (London College of Clinical Hypnosis) is a good one. Once you have gained your diploma (about a year or two years, working a weekend a month) you are fully qualified to practice. You get great suppport with it too, with many 'aftermarket' one day courses to catch up with once you have qualified which take you to advanced level.
'Five Percent' is another good way of learning the ropes and they have been working very closely with Valerie Austin. This is a more business orientated way of learning as they concentrate on teaching you in a short time frame. They are also about to have a network of agents that gets you guaranteed earnings per year etc, so may be a good way to get going from scratch.
'IAH' (International Association of Hypnoanylists) offer a distance learning programme which focuses on analysis etc. Very indepth.
These are just a few to choose from the many that are out there.
Good luck and ask me anything you want if you need to.

can you give the web site for five percent
Hi Steve
Many thanks - will definitely check those out & look into the options. I'll get my partner to register on here too, & then he'll be able to take you up on your offer & get some guidance if he needs to - everyone on here is really helpful & I was hoping he might be able to make contact with practitioners out there, as he's just starting out in this direction, and any input from people already working in this field is really useful. There are so many people on here already practising it's a great resource to know about & am so glad I came across the website :D (I'm currently studying complementary therapies, so it's invaluable for me too!)
Thanks again
Claudette

Hi Claudette,
The diploma course I did in 2000 was with the Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnosis located in Southend. It was ten months, one weekend a month and there was a lot packed in. Towards the end of the course we covered analysis, which is very powerful to work with, on top of suggestion therapy, etc. Also throughout, we looked at how everything would be applied to running your own business. I became a member of the APHP from it. I believe there is a distance learning option, but leaves out the analysis part because you really need to know what you're getting into there.
My opinion of the best way to learn is to attend the classes - you make contacts and can iron out any blips in your technique. It also boosts your confidence to practise on classmates, etc. I can't imagine anyone learning an art as practical as hypnotherapy just from notes. Southend has good train links to London (40 mins to Liverpool St, I think).
There's loads more I could tell you but don't want this post to go on forever - you can pm me if you like.

Hi Steve
Clicked on your website as I am very interested in hypnotherapy. Can you tell me how long it would take to train for EFT?? I've read loads about it and would love to do it.
Also, my husband and I have our first Easystep session booked on Saturday morning, I noticed you mentioned this on your website, so we're really pleased that it's something you recommend.
Much love

Hi Jewels
EFT can be learnt relatively easy by either buying the videos from Gary Craig's website in the USA by following this link or by attending a workshop training event run by any of the companies here in the UK that are listed on EFT websites.
If you PM your location, I can recommend a company near to where you live.

Thanks Steve
I downloaded an e-book a while back but am still ploughing through it!!
I live in the Harrow area, do you know of anywhere relatively near to me.
Much love
