Collect Questions

I'm New...
Question:

Hi...I thought I would drop by and introduce myself.
I am 29 years old female(soon to be 30...yikes) and have been collecting Crystals for the past two years. It started as a fun thing my grandmother used to do. She would often buy me a Crystal to help with certain areas of my life. About two years ago I was diagnosed with Underactive Thyroid and started to use Crystals as an extra boost to my energy...unfortunately my health has become worse over the last year, I have now found out that I have Fibromyalgia and now a Gall Bladder complaint but I still use Crystals and they really do help with most of my symptoms.
I also have a website, which is in the process of being re-worked. There are a few nice pictures of some of the Crystals in my collection but my collection has rocketed since I started it...I now have just over 150 tumbles, 35+ rough/cabinet specimens and over 20 other lovely formations (geodes and pillars, skulls and frogs).
Thank you for your time,
Zen

Hi ZenFrog
but best not to - I'm not sure where this one came from. I'm forever searching on the net for all sorts of animations. You will find I love my pretty pictures and especially if they move ........................ So I gather you like frogs then?

I love frogs and reptiles. I also like insects. I have had a variety of odd pets and also collect taxidermy items featuring them...believe me that isn't as cruel as it sounds. Most of my collection comes from a time when it was acceptable and my plan is that when I die I will donate it to a museum/science labso they can use them for DNA reference...to keep these specimens preserved may allow us to bring back and save extinct species in the future.

So you'll like this one then?
Some years ago now I took a degree in Zoology and had to study amphibians and reptiles which I found it interesting at the time. But I can't remember much now. ;) Not too keen on insects though. [:'(] We had to do experiments on live cockroaches which was not much fun. I couldn't TOUCH them .......... eek.(I'm Ok with frogs and toads though - I like THEM). I'm afraid I really wasn't much good at the practicals.
Your donation plan sounds a wonderful idea.
Hope you enjoy yourself here on HP. It is a very addictive site - I love it here. See you around .......

Love the chameleon...I nearly got one of those. Settled for a Leopard Gecko instead. I used to have a pet frog called Darwin. He was a Whites Tree frog. I only thought of the donation thing recently after watching an episode of Flog It (UK antiques program on the BBC). A guy had collected many African and Tibetan specimens and had preserved everything. They were using the DNA from the specimensto help with breeding programs. The animals I have are only Marine life, bugs and snakes and at the moment are quite common, but if they ever became extinct I would give them up for research.
Best wishes,
Zen
PS...Thanks for all the warm welcomes, much appreciated.
