Question:
Morning all
A friend and I have been approached to do some Pamper Parties for groups of people that we both know and we think it's a great idea - especially as between us we can offera lot of beauty and holistic therapies. We are trying to put together a package quite quickly but we realise that there are things that need refining so I would be really grateful for any advice any of you may have for running a party. We have suggested that 6 people are enough for 2 therapists but would say that the party must a minimum of 4 in order to get "off the ground". Do you charge per person, per treatment, or a one-off cost for the evening. Do you give the hostess a gift/gifts and what terms and conditions do you impose.
Sorry to bombard you with these questions but we really would be grateful for anything you can offer us.
thanks so much:)

Lotusflower,
When I did my first pampering party I had many questions like you.
First of all you have to think about these following questions. How much will it cost you to do each treatment, how much profit do you want to make and how much will it cost getting there (petrol).
On my first pampering party I charged per treatment but this got very confusing and I didn't make much profit!(Inow charge for the time - much better).
I do give a hostess gift (other pampering parties don't)which makes my clients feel special.
Before the party I do a treatment schedule so everyone (clients and therapists) knows what they are doing when.
T and C
£30 deposit (refundable if the party is cancelled 30 days prior to the party)
I must know how many clients will be attending and which treatments they want.
Hope this helps you, if you need anything else don't hesitate to ask.
Bronni
Thanks Bronni (and Kay for your pm).
Those were on the lines of what we working towards. I thought that cost per person would be better than cost per treatment. What sort of gift do you give the hostess, we thought a bottle of nice wine and some flowers. I noticed that on some Pamper websites the the hostess doesn't get anything. I would have felt awkward just going to her house for nothing. I use to work the Party Plan (for Virgin Vie) so I have had a good experience of doing home parties - the good thing from my point of view is that we are not going to houses to sell anything (other than our skills) and I feel comfortable about that.
Thanks again for your help

Hi Lotusflower,
I have been doing pamper parties for a few years now and they are great fun.
I used to give the clients a menu at the beginning of the party with Menu 1 being me and Menu 2 being my colleague instructing the party-goers to tick one choice in each menu so that we both did equal treatments. We charged £25 per person and it worked very well.
the downside was that you had to pack EVERYTHING in case you got a tick on every option.
I have since worked with another therapist, we sent the menus to the hostess prior to the party, and held her responsible for getting everyones choices in before the party. We then knew exactly what to pack and even printed off an order of work and gave one to the hostess to co-ordinate, and one each for us to work from. This worked extremely well, even though one lady changed her mind on the night, we didn't feel stressed to tell her she had to pick from the range on offer (which she gladly did).
We also gave the hostess a gift of having her treatment half price, which although we had told her before when she paid her deposit, we again announced at the end of the party, and everyone was dead envious.
We gave each guest an aftercare sheet with our details on, and also details of how to host their own party and receive their place at half price.
I will also add that this party was for a premier league footballer's wife.
good partygoing!
Hi Daisy,
I am very interested in doing Pamper Parties. I was reading your post and you said you charged £25.00 per person attendning the party. How did you ensure that each person got an equally valuable treatment if they were all paying £25.00. E.g. if one person picked aELT and EBSwhereas another picked Massage and Pedicure.
Also how does this type of work effect your insurance?
Thanks :)
Jasper
Take a look at my site all the details of my holistic paradise party are on there. Hopefully it will give you an idea..too tired to explain so I'd rather just show ya!
