EFT wording?
Question:

Hi there,
As I've already posted over on the emotional forum I shall be brief.
I'm coming to the end of a stressful college course which I've loved despite the headaches it's given me!
However for the last few weeks I've been quite low, weepy, insecure & have great difficulty in believing in myself.
I'm feeling inferior & insecure & I'm trying EFT but I'm not really sure on the set up affirmation, I've been tryingalthough I'm feeling inferior & insecure I deeply....& then fear of failure as I'm tapping.
Sometimes it does work & other times nothing, could it be that I'm not precise enough or my wordings all wrong?
Any help will be gratefully received

Hi M.A. and welcome to HP.
It's possible it could be the wording.
Look at each issue individually i.e. 1. Inferior and2. Insecure.
For each of theselook at them in more detail and bring out the individual aspects. i.e. for Inferior, ask yourself what or who you are feeling inferior to.For Insecure, ask yourself what is it exactly that is making you feel insecure.
For example if you come out with "Hayley on my course made me feel inferior because she was always getting better marks" then work specifically with this and, phrasing it in your own words use something like "Even though Hayley made me feel inferior, I......"
If there's lot's of things then write them all down and make sure that you work on each one seperately (start with the one that feels the "biggest"). Only move onto the next one when you've cleared the previous one.

Hi Energylz & thank you for the welcome!
As feeling inferior is my main issue I shall deal with this first & see where it takes me.
Could you tell me how long I should aim totap for or it is a working progress type of thing? Somedays I only get a spare 5 minutes whilst others I find myself tapping away for 20, is there a balance or should continue if & when I can?

Hi MA,
Tap whenever you feel like it, and how often you want. There's no limit that I know of. Just make sure you drink sufficient water as this helps your energy system to function better and can make EFT more effective.
Gary Craig (the founder of EFT) says that you should tap whenever you have a spare moment, and one spare moment that we always have is when we're sat on the loo. :D

Hi again energylz,
I have tapped 5 times since yesterday & today I'm feeling tearful, could this be related? I never changed my set up statement & I wonder if its time to amend it. Also I've found I'm unearthing issues I thought were resolved a long time ago, is this normal?
I shall make a list like you suggested & make my way through it!

Hi MA,
I take it you've downloaded the free eft manual from . I thought Gary talked about unearthing hidden issues in that, but perhaps I'm mistaked, I'll have to go back and look at it.
Yes it's perfectly normal for you to work on one issue to find that other issues come to the surface. It's a sign that a) you've cleared the first issue and b) it was masking underlying issues that also need to be dealt with. On the other foot, so to speak, sometimes working on an issue can clear out other issues that you already have on your list but have not yet worked on. If you can readily identify one or two issues that you believe are the root cause of the others then target those ones, but if not then work on them from your list in highest score first order.
If you're feeling tearful, then look at the issues that are making you tearful and work on each of those.
Stick at it, and you'll get them all cleared. Just remember that whenever anything comes up that upsets you or makes you tearful, it's not a case of "EFT isn't working, it's making me feel worse", but more a case of "EFT is doing it's job and highlighting the other things I need to work on".
Sounds like you're doing the right thing, so keep us posted with your progress.

Thank you so much for your responses, it's very kind of you. You are right Gary talks about unearthing issues :)I must've missed it trawling through the pages!
I've incorporated visualiation techniquesas well & although I still have worries/issues etc I feel so much brighter today [sm=1syellow1.gif]

Hi there,
I just wanted to post a quick update & thank you to Energylz. I've been using EFT religiously, tapping up to 5 times a day. I honestly cannot believe the difference it has made to me.
It has helped me deal with the initial issues I posted about, whilst others simply melted away without me realising. Problems that were so deeply rooted I can now look at logically without feeling panicky & anxious, thus helping me deal with them effectively.
