Thanks for that - I have just voted. I have had heated debates with an old G.P. regarding this subject which he described as "Mumbo Jumbo" however I won him round and he prescribed a homeopathic remedyfor my son on the NHS afterI obtaineddetails from the local Naturopath. If you don't ask - you won't get.

Well done you!, solas, on both counts ;)

Earlier today I emailed a link to this thread and the one in Reiki to the editor of the poll, just for his info.
I got back a reply in which he said he had thought there must be something like this out there, as they've received more votes than for any previous poll!

Thanks, Holistic,
I've been and voted too. The most comforting thing for me is that only a tiny percentage of people have voted that none of the listed CAM therapies should be available on the NHS.

Bumping this one up again, since my attention was drawn to their news item about the poll:
Apparently, the statistics are of little use, because the poll was not a public poll, nor was it exclusively for NHS staff.
Ermmm, so what was it then? Perhaps I've missed something here, but I don't recall seeing anything which said "you can look, but don't touch".
Even more puzzling, why not ask that the thread be taken off HP because it would mess up their statistics?

Me confused[sm=speechless-smiley-008.gif]! If they didn't want any 'outsiders' to vote, why put the poll on a site which is accessible to outsiders? There must be a 'firewalled' site somewhere for the use of NHS employees only. I used to work in FE and we had an 'open to all' bit on the college website and a closed bit for staff only which was password protected.
Do I take it that because lots of CAM peeps voted, they didn't get the result they wanted!!![sm=banghead.gif]

I guess the figures were obviously swaying in favour of the NHS funding complementary therapies, and that must obviously be a misrepresentation of people's views.
Statistics are great aren't they!
Let's send them some healing and maybe they'll see the light. ;)

:DAm I surprised not at all....the NHS is not ready for the holistic team just yet!
Glad to report that a midwife in Israel said it is working well there........and that the medical profession really do not have a choice due to public demand......
