Master attunement
Question:

I have been thinking of doing Master Reiki trainingas I have been 2nd degree for 2 years and nowfeel ready. Before I get in touch with my Reiki Master I have been "googling" and found a site stating you could self attune to Masters for $77 - Chikara Reiki Do. Does anyone know if this is worth checking out?

Perhaps you could post a link to this site so we can have a look?
I cannot help but wonder, though, if there's a reason for changing from your present Reiki Master to an "unknown"?

Hi,
I read a lovely quote in a book once. It said that if you want spinach then you pay for spinach. But if you want diamonds, then you pay for diamonds.
(Don't quite know why spinach).
But the point is - Reiki Masters is a commitment - a HUGE commitment. Don't go for one because it is cheap.
Go for the course that is the BEST! Whatever you have to pay or do. You will only regret it afterwards if you take the cheap one.
It is worth it - do you feel you are?
Love and light,

I did my Reiki masters training over a 2 days workshop and I felt the input of others on the same course was immensely helpful. Personally I wouldn't have liked to have done it one-to-one. The other course membersmade a signficant contribution to the overall experience which I really enjoyed.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Reiki is something, to quote John Gray (one of Takata-sensei's master level students), that is passed:

"Hand to hand"

i.e., from one living person to another

IMO, it is not something you can self-attune to - unless perhaps, you are willing to go down the whole '21-days of starvation, prayer and meditation' route - and maybe not even then

And even if it was something you could self-attune to, why should you have to pay someone else $77 in order to do so ??!!

Also, I feel, it is important to remember that attunement - be it to master or any other level - is only a part of Reiki Training.

Often, much of our 'learning' comes from simply spending time in the physical company of an experienced Reiki Teacher.

The initiation (attunement) ritual, may constitute the formal aspect of the attunement to the 'Reiki frequencies', however, aside from the 10 minutes or so over which the initiation occurs, and this often the thing that is forgotten, over the entire remainder of the time we spend with the teacher during the course of training, we are not merely gaining information [which we could read in a book/manual] but are also participating (albeit usually subconsciously) in a profound 'energetic' interaction that follows on from, and IMO 'rounds out' the effects of the Initiation process itself

Hopefully the above is a link, if not there will be many edits:)
I am very happy with my Reiki Master and I will go to her again when I can arrange it, I just wondered if this course would give more/new/different information - I am addicted to book learning I think.I live in the country and do not have access to a car so the internet is my tutor for a lot of things
