Question:
My mother has had IBS for some time now and we were wondering if reflexology would help.
Dear Jos,
Yes I believe it does help. When I was doing my training I had a client who suffered IBS on and off for about a decade. During the 12 course weekly treatments their IBS symptoms greatly improved to the extent that some of the symptomsvanished. Unfortunately as soon as the treatments stopped the symptoms returned but I think this was because they ignored my lifestyle advice which I believe was the root cause of most of their IBS systoms. So I would give it a go.
That's great news, thanks for the info Akashall.
In my own experience very much so. I used to be an IBS sufferer, but since studying reflexology and having treatments myself I almost never have any symptoms any more. I had a case study person with IBS when I was studing reflexology, and her bowel calmed down considerably over the course of the treatment. I hope your mum gets some relief from her symptoms, as I know what a miserable thing IBS can be.
