Healing Animals
Question:

Hi all [sm=wave.gif]
I know I could use the distant healing method to send good vibes to my doggies but how would I do it using the hands on approach? I only have experience of patients sitting up straight on a chair, and my dogs won't do this [8D]
And how would you get them to keep still? Whenever ours are lay down and you go over to them they roll over and want tummy rubs! If I keep my hand still on them they sort of go 'Oi! Don't stop the stroking!'. Maybe if I stroke them till they fall asleep then try it. But how would I do it then? Where would I put my hands, because with the standard seating method you place your hands either side of the chakra in general.
Thanks!

Hi Caveman, Animals are very good at letting us know they need some healing, perhaps yours don't need any at the moment which is why they don't sit still.
Animals have 7 chakras just like us humans, from the base of the tail to the top of the head. I would use my intuition though and place my hands where I am impressed to. If an animal moves away, they don't want any healing, if they move away after 5 to 10 minutes they are telling you they've had enough.
Sometimes you will place your hands on them, and they will move position, so your hand will then be in a different place, put their by your animal, so if your dog moves slightly, keep your hand making contact with the body and see where it ends up, chances are that your furry friend has moved so that your hand goes somewhere else that is in need of some healing.
Hope this helps

You could start with gentle massage for very short periods too. My little dog , who very recently died loved her withers being massaged, and all along her back, try it to begin with with a soft brush inyour powerhand and your 'receiving' hand brushing gently in alternate strokes. But do keep the sessions short.

Margrit Coates' books are very informative and well worth buying if you're into healing animals. She has a book on healing horses, and one for healing cats, dogs, rabbits etc.
She did a talk at the NFSH meeting a couple of years ago, and it wonderful and extremely moving.

Thanks for the info on the books, I'll have a look for them.

Margaritt Coates has brought out a DVD about healing animals aswell. Its good because she shows you where the chakras are.

I find asking an animal if it's o.k to do some healing (if you want to practice!) or telling them you're about to do it, is good. And yes, if they need it, they'll usually come to you, and arrange things so they're right under your hands! Happened to me, anyway - trust their/your intuition!
