Question:
Excuse me if this has been discussed before I joined the forums, but:
What is "really" the recommended time between having Reiki II attunement and doing Masters? Perhaps it seems a silly question, but frankly, I have heard/read very conflicting things about this. Plus of course, everyone isdifferent and unique so times will vary between individuals. I was attuned to Reiki IIeleven months ago, and am not in any hurry to do my Masters, but would like to hear other healers' views on this matter.

Hey Guin,
I think perhaps you answered your own question there!
There is no set recommended time, because as you point out every Reiki teacher will have a different opinion on this matter. As you say, I think the most sensible thing is to let the student decide when they feel is the right time for them.
Thanks Azalia, and I agree. When I was attuned to Reiki II, I was told that my body will tell me when it's time. I'm a great believer in that.
Many thanks!

The recommended time for doing your Reiki Masters is: When you are ready.

Ooops silly me, forgot to mention....
I had myReiki Master attunement (again) yesterday from my Sekhem Master (now my Reiki/Sekhem Master), along with some training for doing attunements etc. I've just got to practice now so that I am comfortable as a Master/Teacher.

I think you'll know when you're ready. It's three years since I had my Reiki 2 attunement but, as yet, I have no overpowering urge to go any further because I'm still learning. :)
Many thanks...............and also congratulations and good luck to you too! :)

Above post was meant for Giles!..........and thanks for your response also Poppet................I think we never stop learning really.

Hi Guinevere.
I believe in having a minimum of 6 months between levels 2 and 3. This is mainly so the students have time to integrate and learn about the increased energies of level 2 as well as learning to use the symbols in healing. Although this is the minimum for me, I do go by the individual, I don't believe all students would be ready after 6 months by any means, but some definitely are.
But as always, each to there own! :)
Hi Guinevere,
I agree with Donna that for most folk there ought to be a good few months between Reiki II & III. Personally, I waited for 18 months between my Reiki II & Masters/teachers. I had previous experience of working with healing energies and meditation prior to embarking on my Reiki I,but again everyone is different !!
Reiki IMO is just as much about personal development as it is healing others and you just can't learn that in a weekend or even a couple of months!!
Many Reiki practitioners stick with Reiki 1 or II and never progress on to do the Master/Teacher attunement. It's really about whether you want or could see yourself teaching ......

IMO, so many people (through no fault of their own) seem to have the understanding that it is the length of time you wait between taking training for the next level that is important - where in reality it is how actively you apply and develop your Reiki during that time.
Sadly, I've known some people who, for example, after receiving the Level 1 initiation, essentially just 'kick back' and focus on the 'waiting' (albeit impatiently!) for 6-12 weeks - not even bothering to self treat, let alone treat others - before taking the Level 2.
I feel that, in their enthusiasm, too many people see the progression through the levels as some kind of race. It is not.
I have a friend who took level one several years ago, and when I suggested a while back that he might wish to take 'the next step on the journey' and receive the level 2 attunement, his reply was essentially "Not until I've exhausted all the possibilities of Level 1 - ask me again in a decade or so."
