Hot Stone therapy
Question:

I would love to learn this, does anyone know if there are any courses running around the oxfordshire area?
And how much i should expect to pay for a course. I know a lot of this depends on area, but its something i am really interested in.

Answers:

Hi Tina,
Jane Scrivner teaches the original LaStone Therapy courses in Stratford Upon Avon - not too far from Oxford!
I have checked their website http://www.bsct.co.uk/go.html for next dates but they only have them published until mid-nov so check with them again in a couple of weeks or give them a call. 0208 6838490
I would highly recommend this training .
I have copied this from the website
LaStone Therapy training
The target market is broad, appealing to so many people, even those who have never had a massage before seem curious to try. It seems that the idea of hot stones rubbed on the body is instinctively understood as being therapeutic. Therefore the demand for therapist is increasing rapidly worldwide.
To train you need to hold a massage with anatomy and physiology qualification and to be an experienced therapist. The training is three and a half days and costs £380, based in our Stratford-upon-Avon venue. Equipment is supplied to use on the course.
To set up once you have completed the training, you will need a thermo stone set (54 basalt hot, 16 white marble cold), a heater for the stone and cooler for the marble, both uniquely designed for LaStone Therapy, using digitally controlled stainless steel units. This kit costs from £765.00 + VAT.
Treatments last 1 to 1½ hours and usually cost around £60-£90.

Hope this helps
