Question:
Hi all
Just wondered out of curiousity how you perfect your blends. Normally I use oils mainly for their therapeutic properties and in small and individual amounts. However because I only use in small amounts, find many of my oils are going out of date with lots to spare. I'd like to make up larger quantities so I can sell them on to clients and wondered if anyone had any good methods of blending. I find that when I start off with a couple of blends, and keep smelling every so often to see what needs adjusted, my sense of smell becomes really distorted. Anyone else like this?
Advice appreciated.
Tracey
Hi Tracey,
Blending is quite an art - and I am certainly no artisan - however I find it useful to remember to use top, middle and base notes - not all authorities are agreed on what constitutes what tho - use some books to give you a guide - most aromatherapy text books include "a blends well with" -
If your sense of smell fades - smell some fresh coffee - this will clear your olfactory senses
