Help with facials
Question:

Hello
I'm re-writing my facial papaer for VTCT beauty therapy level two and my tutor wrote that I need to put infomation onone question that I'm stuck on:
How does your client's home skin care routine affect its current condition and your treatment plan?
I already know that it affects the skin and the wrong products can contra-indicate the treatment.
I'm also finding it hard to find anything on mixed race skin types.
Any more ideas? Thanks x

Hi
I would guess that what your Tutor is suggesting that you have a definate plan of treatment for the home and clinic. As any skincare condition can take at least 28 days to rectify itself you would need a plan base on this as well as any treatment courses you would recommend.
Break down each part of the sentance and deal with that first
How does your client's home skin care routine affect its current condition
I would hope that the treatment plan is relevant to her/his needs and condition and that the plan would be for them to know how to repeat some of the treatments at home to keep the healing process and upkeep of the skin condition. These could be an expected outbreak ofsomesort but you need to show your client and give your client confidence to continue the plan to get the success she wants. Ultimately you are looking to correct any conditions and home treatments should help to speed this up and prevent a backward slide of the condition.
your treatment plan
Well this is metioned above as you need to take into account her skin type, colour, current condition, products, (there benefits for that type of skin......why are you using them etc) How often she needs to use them and when she should contact you if needs be. Then booking an appointment if appropriate for her to return to continue treatment or to just check that the advice was correct and if there is any need to adjust treatment.
Basically you tutor wants you to explain how best to help your client and what to do and how to do it but in a longer form of explaination and trying to express how you cover for all eventualities in relation to your client. If you have case studies you could use 1 or 2 moments as examples.
I did my beauty with City and Guilds so this may be different to yours as each examination council like to do things slightly differently.
Hope that gives you some ideas even if its not hit the nail on the head!!!
