Question:
Hi
Can anyone give any adivce regarding reflexology and glandular fever ? As far as I can tell it is not a total contraindication - I guess medical advice should be sought beforehand though ? The individualconcerned that I know, has recently been diagnosed with glandular fever fora second time - she had it when she was 16 and this is now some 15 years later. She says her symptoms are no where near as bad as the first time, she just feels lethargic all the time and her glands are raised. Would it be ok to do a full treatment - guess that areas to work would be lymphatic system and endocrine. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi JoB,
I would personally have no problems treating this person, but only if they do not have a raised temperature. (i feel that treating a client who already has a high temp could do more harm than good.....IMO)
As you said, I would treat the endorcine and lymphatics, butwork the points very gently as you don't want to over stimulate them. Just do a very light and relaxing treatment, as you don't want to put too muchpressure on the body when it is already trying tofight an infection.
Hope this helps......let us know how you get on.
