Question:
I don't know what to make of this:eek:, being very new to shamanism, but in my latest journey I met a rapidly moving, jumpy little animal, which looked like nothing I've seen before - sort of like a bushbaby with huge intellegent eyes, but with large pointy ears, (and obviously looking at me as an equal, and weighing me up;))
As I talked to & welcomed the animal, who I believe was called Little Ito, he transformed gradually into a much larger animal, a sort of rapidly growing rabbit, but with pointy ears, finally becoming a wolf, then gradually a bear, then a whale - he then allowed me onto its back and took me out into the sea, but I had so much trouble keeping up with the journey mentally I had to ask him to return to the beach, whereupon I thanked him and I came back from my journey.
I haven't heard of shapeshifting between animals before - can anyone offer any info on this?

Hi Mabinogion,
The first animal you described sounds very much like an Australian Bilby, follow this link to see a pic and read a brief totem description

This cute little creature loves to fossick in the dessert, and may indicate a time of soul searching for hidden treasures within. Perhaps the other animals are coming forth to guide you on your soul journey. Sounds like you are surrounded and enfolded by many animal helpers. I get the sense that you are a natural empath, highly attuned to the energies around you. Spirit says 'trust'
Hope this helps. Blessings of Peace, Crystal Dreamer
Thank you Crystal Dreamer
It certainly looks like the animal I met - I had looked on the net and thought that it might be an opossum but this animal looks even more like it - I wouldn't have found it without you so thanks so much:D
Love the expression, 'fossick in the desert' - I can guess what it means but it would only be a guess. Think I'm going to have to drop that into conversation from now on;)
Had a quick look at your website and its fab - I'll give it closer scrutiny when I have more time:eek:

Hi Mabinogion, So glad to be of help. When I read your post this cute little animal just popped into my head! They really are very cute and resourceful! A while ago, I experienced a shamanic aboriginal healing, where I was taken on a desert journey in my mind. While there, I could hear a scratching sound, and low and behold, a little bilby was fossicking and scratching in the sand. As I'm very passionate about crystals, I felt perhaps this little animal helper was calling me to my destiny. At the time I thought I must find out more, but didn't, not consciously anyway! So in a way, your post was really helpful to me too. Wishing you a wonderful day. Peace and Light, Crystal Dreamer
Hi again Crystal Dreamer
I decided to look up empath,as you felt that described me, and found a great site[link]http://www.geocities.com/christabelle67/TheUniversalEmpathIndex1.html[/link]
Mmmmnn - uncannily right. I've never seen myself as an empath as I deliberately guard against it, but so much of the description is appropriate to me - & I guess I wouldn't know how to guard if I wasn't aware there could be a problem;)
Thanks for pointing me in this direction - it was something I needed to look at to help a friend of mine who seems to have similar traits[&:]
