Question:
I guess the first question might be a question for Steve BUT...
Would it be ethical to do a mass surrogate tapping for someone without their knowledge?
And if so, can we try to organise a group of EFT'ers that would be willing to do a mass EFT on someone? The guy I am thinking of has MS, but I am sure that we all can think of someone. And possibly try to get requests in for someone with a severe illness?
What do people think?
Hi ;-)
While I realise your great intention behind this - to me it is important to get the persons permission before doing any work with them whether this be face to face or dsitance work - this is ofcourse simply just my model of the world and how I work and I realise people may have different opinions on this ;-)
I agree with C Heagarty. I feel that to work on someone without their knowledge or consent is unethical.
Gary Craig disagrees. He says that you do not ask permission from someone to be angry with them, or ask their permission to like them. You just do it.
Same with surrogate EFT tapping, just do it.
I agree with Gary and if your friend starts to get better and is then unhappy about it, he will find a way of getting ill again.
IMHO of course.

I don't agree with Gary here Steve. Extrapolating this one out...........it's a bit like keeping someone alive against their will. They want to die but you keep administering drugs and oxygen. Here's another example - one of my clients is a lay preacher and quite influential in the C of E. She's got together a group of people to pray for Richard Dawkins' soul - what a coup for Christianity it would be if he had some kind of Damascene experience (in her opinion!). There is something quite distasteful against praying for someone or EFTing them against their fundamental free will. (Dawkins would rubbish it on the grounds that there was no rational basis to it anyway - but still - the cheek!) It's a step further than liking or disliking them. If this guy wants to be ill why put him to the bother of getting better again?
It is an interesting ethical question. After all I've recently asked for healing for a girl I only briefly met - I didn't ask her if I could set up a thread for her..........I haven't really thought that out till now. She was suicidal. My instinct is that she has a long and happy life ahead of her, and would benefit from the thread - but that's just my impression.
Hmmmm........

Exactly my point. We don't ask someone if they mind if we hope they get better, or ask our universal guides to look after someone, we just go ahead and do it.
If they get better all well and good.;)

I agree with ReikiDonna - in my model of the world and the way I operate on all levels, permission / ecology and ethics are paramount and we must always ask permission - how do we know that the person wants to get better? They may want to keep their illness - I know this may sound bizarre - but some people do want to stay ill - some people will die to by right and stay where they are and although this is sadening as we want to help peoepl - that is their choice!
And we are not denying them a choice. EFT will not work for someone who resists it. It will work if you do, or do not believe it will work, but not if you resist it.

Maybe we can just agree to disagree ;-) My opinions are simply that and this is the way I work ;-) and I realise that others have different opinions - which is great ;-) I am personally extremely big on boundaries and asking permission and I avoid having any horrible thoughts or enegies towards anyone....I have banished hatred from my unieverse and while this doens;t mean that I'm mates with everyone and agree with the way people behave - I simply keep them out of my awareness and universe and hang out with those who have simialr if not the same Model of the World and way of thinking - makes life easier ;-)
I agree wholeheartedly. I always have positive thoughts where possible. Learn to love and forgive keeps us healthy in mind and body.
Don't you just love this place:D

;-) I agree ;-) forgiveness is very important and something that I find some people stuggle to do..until they realise that the only person who gets hurt from holding a grudge is the person holding the grudge ;-)
So many interesting questions and answers.
Sometimes others are ill and we really try to help them. If you have the time and energy, surely it would be better spent on someone who will accept the enrgy and use it wisely rather than someone who will reject it?
MS is a very complex thing. It operates on many levels and is physically very disabling. Any chronic illness that is serious requires a massive effort to keep at bay or to keep to a minimum. My feeling is that the session will achieve very little in the grand scheme of things. However, it is always good to help oneself as to the reason why one is upset about it all. Then you can be stronger in yourself for when the friend or loved one does come for help.
Looking at it from another angle, isn't that mainly what the mass surrogate healing does anyway?
