Hi,
I wonder if anyone can give me some advice?
I am currently giving reiki to a girl who the doctors say is taking longer to recover from a virus than usual. She is very low on energy and gets dizzy. I'm not sure if this is the same as M.E. but it sounds similar to me.
Anyway, I am treating her twice a week. She always says she feels better after the reiki but by the next morning is back to square one. (There was an improvement to start with that has stayed but apart from that we don't seem to be getting anywhere.)
Is this just a long process? Does anyone else have experience of working with this kind of illness?
Any advice would be appreciated.
is you rclient drinking lots of water, bylots i mean at least 4 litres a day, plain fresh water. if a person is dehydrated then her progress will be slow. ME low energy Virul infections etc.. in my experience theese people are seriously dehydrated.
we lose 1.5 litres of water per day through breathing and respiration so if a person is not getting 1.5 litres a day they wioll def be dehydrated, also make sure she is off coffee.
have you done reiki fom the feet upwards,this needs to be done to raise her energies, if you go from head to toe then you can actually leave her with less energy than before.

As someone who has ME and has found Reiki very helpful to help with lowered energy Dez's ( Hi Dez)advice is very good and does work. I have found on client's who have ME pulling ground energy into the legs and working on blockages in energy while working up through the body works well. Legs get very heavy and tired.
People with post viral conditions often dont sleep well so helping them to have good sleep hygine is important. Also looking at activities during the day not rying to do too much gradulally building up energy levels. If you do too much one day you pay for it the next day

The Reiki is helping her and she benefits from receiving it. It may be that this person needs to take some energetic responsibility for their own healing and not simply pass all of that responsibility energetically backto you. This may be why she/he only feels better for a short time.
There are probably emotionally blockages at work here. I treated a client who gave up on his terminal illness and said he was sick of it. He died a few weeks later. However, the Reiki helped him to sense another more spiritual dimension to life and helped him make the decision to leave this plane. Reiki doesn't work for our expectations but for the highest good and intent.
We have to trust that Reiki is working as it should and also perhaps ask for guidance from the Reiki guides to ask if there are any intuitive ways wemight help with this personshealing. Sometimes we can be a channel for a question to ask this person which may help trigger emotional release or whatever is required or ask the guides to help create the required energetic "space" for further healing.
Just a thought.

its not just a thought, i would totaly agree with you, the emotional aspect of and dis-ease can be worked on enegetically, in fat i am yet to meet a person with a chronic health condition that does not have emotional factors for the condition. this does not mean the emotions created the condition, however there is in my opinion always emotional facotrs that need to be dealt with.
this si why i use a multi facetet approach with my clients, i work on all levels of a person, physical,( including diet and lifestyle) mental, emotional, spiritual and soul level, past present and future.
that usually does the trick

thanks for your replies. I will try reikiing from the feet up when I next see her thanks for that Dez. I do tell her to drink plenty of water after treatment anyway, but I will tell her that it may help the way she is feeling.
I also wondered about an emotional element to this as each time she comes, her chakras have closed down from the solar plexus downwards. I intend to check and treat this distantly this week if I get time. She does tend to have stomach problems and is a worrier so there may be a link there.
I have asked for guidance and I ask for help from those spirit side and angels but I'm not sure if they are with me during treatment. Certainly Im not aware if they are.

I see you do crysal healing as well - why don't you do a line of crystals to balance her chakras with your diatant healing symbol- charge them with the intent that they constantly work on her chakras and charge them regularly with Reiki (the crystals!). I am very careful of balancing chakras and using colours as the colour charts can be misleading, I thus suggest you be careful with treating the chakras. IE. if you treated a priest or nun you might find that their lower chakras are closed and if you can see colours you might find that they are violet instead of yellow, orange and red - however - the violet fits in with their occupations and beliefs and it would not be up to you to try and 'balance' these or fill them with another colour as this is perfect for their life path. Hope this makes sence - sometimes we just need to look at a bigger picture. To me this is where you have to trust the intelegince of Reiki or your crystals for them to 'balance' the chakras for the highest good.
I think the suggestion of doing Reiki from the feet up is a wonderful suggestion - we were also taught that this is a way to energise so that is probably a good way to go.
