Question:
Hi my name is Kerry and i have just recently decided to venture into beauty therapy i am 22 years old with an 18 month old son living in north norfolk. To do my training i have been considering thecarlton institue nvq2. .
now with the carlton institutes own certificateyou can practice independantly to my knowledge in order to complete the job cards for the nvq i am extremly nervous about this as i would have little salon experience but the with thecertificates carlton give you and the limited amount of jobs within my area i do not think i would get a job within asalon.
so to do this i considered becoming a mobile therapist but after expenses i cannot see this being all to profitable. my next thought was to rent a chair within a hairdressers whilst advertiseing mobile services for spray tanning and make-up also having a home treatment room
i was in touch with the princes trust and weetu also business link in norfolk and they all seem sure they can offer me some kind of help in setting up a business so ive decide to experts in this forum on how best to enter this new career gain the qualifications start up a business and which tratments are best to offer in the beginning. PLEASE HELP
you can actually be trained as an Artistry Beauty Consultant at an extremely reasonable price so that you can work in other people's homes and with access to an excellent range of beauty products. this training is limited to make up and skin care but can be very profitable. if you want more info please pm me.

Hi All,
My name is Marie and I have qualified in ITEC Holistic Massage and I have just taken my ITEC Reflexology exam,Iwill also bestudying an Eastern Facial Massage course with Gateway workshopsin August so that I can add more strings to my bow:D
I have been applying to Spas and salons both in London and surrounding areas for about a year now and it seems that they all want beauty quals and exp, so i have decided to study an NVQ 2 in Nail Services with the Carlton Institute based in Windsor but I am still not having much luck [:@]
Can anyone out there provide me with any advice? has anyone else found it hard to find employment? i also have 3 months part time spa work on my CV so i am not completely inexperienced :(or can anyone get me a job :)????????
I have just typed up a leaflet detailing all of my qualifications as i do plan to provide a mobile therapist once i have fully qualified.
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!!as i am desperate to begin my career in complimentary Therapies!!!
Look forward to hearing from ya!!
