Male Brazilian waxing training
Question:

Hello everyone, I'm hoping to pick your brains! I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this as I guess it could be seen as future advertising (if such a thing exists), so please accept my apologies if I've broken the rules inadvertently!
Something I've been thinking of doing for a while is offering training in male Brazilian waxing (back, sac and crack) to therapists who want to offer this service to clients. I get loads of emails from people asking for tips and advice on this treatment, and as far as I'm aware there is only one other training provider that covers BSC waxing in the UK. I'm of the firm belief that this is something which needs to be learnt in a proper "hands-on" environment, not just from watching a demonstration or reading an email, and I have been tentatively writing a course for the last few months. I'm in the process of approaching various organisations to ensure the training will be recognised for insurance purposes, but before I go any further I wanted to see what people thought.
Do you think this is something people would want to access, training wise? If you did want to train in this area yourself, what would you be looking for from a course (content-wise, etc)? Any ideas on duration (1 day, 2 days, etc), maximum class sizeand a rough price that you'd be willing to pay? Would you want to do the training in your salon (i.e. I come to you, and you provide the models) or would you prefer to travel to my salon or a neutral training venue to learn?
So many questions, sorry! Please feel welcome to PM me if you'd rather not post a public response, but any and all comments would be most welcome.
And sorry again if I'm not allowed to post this! [&:]
Andy :)

deffinatly a brill idea
i think as it might b hard to get models it would be better for you to prehaps visit people in their salons as then models wud be more willing although if you provided the models somehow, it would be good to run it in your own venue less traveling for you.
due to it being such a delicate area;) prehaps a 2day course(maybee theory and a demo on 1st day and practice on models on 2nd day?) or a long day wud b best as it woulld give people time to get used to methods!
on the money front ive no idea as im used to euros and getting such courses cheaper through college but no harm in guessing £200 upwards (tell me if that is crazy)
hope thats of some kinda help

Andy
I'd want:
To travel to your training facility
To have a model provided (where on earth do you find them? :-)
To pay £100-200 pounds
1 long day
a DVD to take away (which I would be happy to pay £10-14 for)

Clare, thank you for your thoughts - much appreciated!
Funnily enough a DVD on all aspects of male waxing is an idea I've been toying with, I just need to find someone who can work a camcorder and editing equipment! :D
Thanks again for your input.

Andy! I think that is a great idea. I have a unisex salon and have a lot of fellas for various waxing. I also like the idea of a dvd. I truly believe that professional therapists can learn from a dvd.
Send details.
