Question:
Hi there,
I'm having a real problem trying to sort my own skin type. Fundamentally I have slightly combination skin, oily-ish t-zone and dryer cheeks, but with enlarged pores either side of my nose, which is covered in blackheads. However, I do have occasional sensitive breakouts, and sometimes I can get a lovely red rash across my jawline and cheeks, just from tepid water hitting my face in shower. After having a heavy cold at the moment and not feeling like drinking much fluid (I know![&:]) my skin feels really quite dry.
So my question is, which 'skin-type' product should I use first? Dry skin, Combination or Sensitive? Should I be addressing one issue before addressing the rest?
Many thanks in advance, I'm desperate.
hi redbess [sm=wave.gif]
i've got the same skin type as you, minus the rash but an awfulburning sensationwith particular productsso i now use skin products formulated for sensitive skin as i've found out that amongst the blackheads galore, this is what i have [&:]!!
in the morning i use olay complete care for sensitive skin and in the evening i use a night cream as its more heavier and combacts the dry patches- i can't wear cream in the daytime as it looks like someone has smeared a block o' lard all over my face..not a good look at all![:'(]
my routine consists of facewash, toner and moisturiser and a weekly aspirin mask in an effort to shift the blackheads and slowly but ever so surely there has been an improvement in their appearance:D
warm wishes- calla lily x
also try to combat sensitivity first as harsh products for oily skin will sensitise you more. you can get some good masks and deep clenses for sensitive skin that will also help with congestion. aloe vera and cucumber based products work well for sensitive skins and avoid anything with alcohol or lanolin as they will sensitise you more!
i wouldnt like to reccomend any products online as you are sensitive and could have a reaction so id advise you to go see a good skin therapist and get a good deep cleanse and/or mask which will help both problems!
also cleanse tone and moisturisr mornin and night to keep lagre pores clean!
hope that helps!

Hi guys,
Thanks for that. I do cleanse, tone & moisturise anyway, and there's a great range of products I already use. It's just i didn't know whether to go for something fro sensitive rather than combi.
Thank yooooo :D
