Hi,
I am reading a book about the aura with connected excercise to train to see this energy field, as it would be of great help to me when healing rather than using just intuition.
I would like to know if besides theory, there are some people who can actually see aura so as to encourage me in my practice.. And if any of you can see aura, is it something you have from childhood or its something you gained later?

The ability to see the aurausually comes as a result of doing some form of healing and/or spiritual development work. Occasionally, whilst working on a client with Reiki, I will see the energy coming from my hands and also see the clients energy or aura whilst working.
Some of my clients also swear that they sense other people in the room working on them and touching them and are very suprised to open their eyes and find no one there. These are the Reiki guides at work. They also experience vivid flashes of colours ranging from Gold and silvers, to marigold yellows to deep blues and violets. I also "see" these colours internally as well whilst working.
The hands also become sensitive to energy blocks in the aura and I can feel and sometimes see the Reikiworking onthese energetic areas. This is quite often accompanied by these flashes of colour for the client.
Energetic healing is very real andI have found these "by products" of "seeing" and working with Reiki have grownas each degree is taken.
Even more apparent is the energy when passing Reiki attunements to others. Aftergiving a Reikiattunement, I can see the change in and the Reikiaround and inthe person's aura.
It is usually easier to see these effects if we focus on seeing the aura by looking "past" the person rather than directly at them. The focus in the eyesseems different for viewing energetically.
I'd stress here that this ability comes and goes for me. It's not something I find myself working on, nor does it seem anything special or different. Seems perfectly natural. It doesn't makeanyone a better or worse healer in my opinion than anyone else...after all it's Reiki that's doing the business, not me.:)

Quite a few years ago now, I went to psychic development classes where I was introduced to various methods to "see" the aura. They didn't really work for me - though I could "see" clairvoyantly ie I would look at the person with my physical eyes, and then close my eyes to get impressions of colour. With practice, I could then see different colours aligned to different parts of the body. But I was not able to see the colours with my physical eyes.
Once trained in Reiki, I automatically began to see trails of energy leaving my fingers when held up to a light, neutral background - always a green smokey looking trail. When giving healing I sometimes receive impressions of dark patches on the body where some attention is needed and I also receive flashes of coloured light which gives me an idea of the energy around a person.
However, more than ever before I still rely on intuition! Nine times out of ten the colour impressions I see simply back up what my intuition is telling me.

There are people out there who see full auras. I know one of them very well. She has seen them and all other energies since birth. I too have seen auras - sometimes very clear and incredibly bright - and sometimes just with my intuition. It really doesn't matter how you see them, just how you use the information that you get.
Keep practicing - the ability does grow.

hi all
hope you dont mind me nipping in here ,i would just like to say that i am a developing psychic/medium that i am ok withand that i tooam interested in seeing the aura.
of course i started to see the creamy misty outline first quite quickly , about 6 inches around the body, over timewith practice just by looking the aura grew wider and in places i saw bursts of expanding areas from the etheric layer, but no colours yet, now to date i see the aura still around the same width but with a fine colour layer now. not as good around the full body but mainly around the head shoulders.
i mostly look over the shoulder in places where people wait for ques,cinemas etc,
the colours are mostly green or blue that i come across ,but faint.
i agree that its a different type of focusing, like looking past the person, depending on the background.
it does frustrate me sometimes as i wish that i could see what others explain as big bursts, and can do an aura reading, but i am sure there is no quick fix, just practice.
i do spiritual healing once a week and within a dull lighting atmosphere and notice while healing my hands glow a dull white, this is amazing to me , just reminds me of wearing the white magic gloves, again i see this not by looking at my hands but as if i am looking right next to the outlide of the hands.i only see this when healing.
and the feeling i get from the palms is unbelievable , its like having a slow hairdryer eminating from my palms,
but auras i now find is a matter of time and practice ,and sometimes our frustration to" see "can inhibit our development.(as i found out),by the way any further advice to help seeing the aura most welcome,still learning in this area

You are absolutely right about how our frustration to "see" can inhibit our development.
In my experience, the "seeing" of auras and energyarises when the "I"isn't looking. The aura isn't really seen by the ordinary self which is "looking". It's seen more easily when the "I" is not looking. If that makes sense. :)
As we raise our consciousness, through spiritual work, meditation, healing, working on understanding and knowing how the emotional and mental bodies can keep us fixed in a lower frequencyand working on opening up to higher flow and light, then the ability to see and work with energy arises by itself.
Any spiritual development work, regular meditation etc will open us up to what is already there.
If we only concentrate on developing our "psychic powers" then we are concentrating on a egoor separate "I"thing and we will not make much progress. If we concentrate on being of service, of overcoming the sense of separate "I" through meditation etc then we will make progress and these energeticabilitieswill unfold as we grow.
I have found doing all 3 degrees of Reiki a real path of growth and awakening. Also, there are courses such as "Awakening the light body" which are known to be accelerated paths of spiritual growth (not for everyone) which bring tremendous shifts in our energy and our ability to work with energy.
My life has certainly not been the same since awakeningmy light body.
Accelerated paths of spiritual growth are not for everyone. They bring up many issues of the emotional and mental bodies to deal with and we are not immune from the sometimes painful effects of cleansing these bodies. However, if you wish to grow spiritually to help serve the Earth and humanity and have the courage towork onany issues"face on" then your endevour on an accelerated path is richly rewarded.
A good teacher is essential in my view. We cannot do these things in isolation and there's no point in "reinventing the wheel." Much esoteric knowledge is now available to those who seek. If you are sincere in your goals, the universe will send you exactly what you need. As it always does! :)
