Question:
Hiya, me again!
Whilst I was doing Reiki on my boyfriend last night (his first ever experience and my first time on someone other than myself) he experienced something quite bizarre.
He didn't know what to expect as I didn't tell him in case he made it up. Anyway he said afterwards that he was very relaxed but towards the middle/end of his session he felt that he was back as a child in the family home. He talked about how he saw minute details such as the colour of the castors on the settee and the handles on the doors, everything was very vivid.
As well as seeing things like this he also felt slight tingling in his feet and at some stages he felt like he was being restrained, but I was not putting any pressure on him.
Anyway so I was wondering what does this mean? I have not heard of anyone going back to their childhood before during a session. Was this related to the Reiki?

Yes it is possable for the person to be taken back or even to be taken forward while in a session. The tingling in your feet or hois may indicate he has soemthign around them that needs removing. Ask permission first though.
OK have u tried using a dowser around him it will show up where the blocks are and which areas need working on. First find out which direction is no and which is yes, by asking it a question.
I also press the point of groundign after a session of reiki too

Being taken back to childhood could indicate that he has some healing to do regarding his childhood, did he get an emotion that accompanied being shown his childhood?
Also, tingling in the feet is quite normal, as the energies begin to flow. When you say restraining, do you mean, he felt pressure on his feet??? This could indicate he needs to be grounded.

He seemed to think of the childhood experiences as happy memories, he was talking about playing football with his friends and such like.
Sorry I should have made myself clearer regarding the restraint feeling. It was while I was over his heart chakra not on his feet, I think that in future sessions in that position I will be hands off and hopefully that should be more comfortable.

Yes it sometimes happens quite spontaneously that clients have excellent re-call of childhood or other periods in their lives which they may be holding in their body memory. You certainly don't have to apply any symbol for this to happen either. If its ready to be released then it will be released at that particular time.
Frank Arjava Petter also talks about this in the book he wrote with Tadao Yamguchi and his mother, I think its called the Hayashi Manual.
I have also worked on clients who were involved in serious road accidents, and felt the shock wave in both hands, a bit like waves on a pond moving out from a central point repelling my hands. But I think that is a little different from what you are describing? In that case I tend to work round the trauma rather than directly onto it to ease Reiki energy gently back into the area of trauma.
