Question:
hi, a big question here, am curious about ayurvedic medecine..
is there a book whcih could explain well what it is?
and second, what good schools give training (massage and underlying medecine)in the UK?
thanks!
fadette.
There is loads of info on the internet about Ayurveda.
Tri-dosha run courses in Ayurveda/Ayurvedic Massage therapies.
Hi Petunia,
I would recommend reading "Ayurveda The Science of Self-Healing by Dr Vasant Lad" - Lotus Press are the publishers and the IBN number is 0-914955-00-4.
Luv Binah
absolutely great! thanks a lot.
are you two practising it?
why is Ayurvedic masage so difficult to find in England?
i cannot find any practitioner/clinic that offers ayurvedic massage in my region....why?
try for starters - they might have some practitioners in your region, given that they run their workshops there.
Hi Fadette
My friend is an Ayurvedic Doctor and practuces here in humble old Northern Ireland, but she trained in England...... she is quite succussfull over here apart from some small minded jelous types who try to bad mouth her reputation and refer to her as a witch......which i find really amuzing......
many thanks Joggyb,
I had a good look and it looks appealing, especially that their workshops are taking place near where I live!
however it looks like they are just starting out...
have never heard of the big guru-teacher Areya before, but then I am an ignorant in this field.
Still, I found noone giving Ayurvedic massage in the south west!! looks like I may have to try it in London, one day.
thanks.
hi, me again on the same subject.
I am quite surprised:
the more I read about ayurveda the more I like it, the wholeness of its system: physical, mental, spiritual (astrology, yoga and meditation seem unique to this healing culture).
But why is there only one clinic teaching ayurvedic massage in the whole UK? I would have thought, considered the history of indian immigration here I could find a few institutions practising this superb art and teaching the science, and instead: one clinic ...
I have read at the back of one of my books "the college of ayurvdic medecine, London" well, it does not exist! nothing come up on the internet, well the name is mentioned but no web site...
If anyone can recommend a good school in England for ayurveda that teaches the sciences, the gem therapy, the massages, the marma points therapy, tell me!! or just the massage and the marma point therapy.
