This is just a thought I had. Do you think it a good idea if we started posting information about the different crystals, what they can used for, how to use them. We could maybe post one a week or one a month.

Hi Anjil,
I like the idea. I love crystals and was collecting them well before I was on my healing path lol! I have some books but just don't get around to reading them but as I am addicted to these forums I would probably pick up more info here!

Mineral class: lattice silicate, feldspar family
Colour green, blue green
Healing
Physical
Regulates metabolic problems of the liver, has a relaxing effect. Strengthens the nerves and helps with brain disorders, harmonisis the automatic nervous system as well as the thymus and pituitary glands.

Tigers Eye...so many meanings and a really useful crystal here is some info'
A silicon dioxide with an iridescent cat's eye effect...Used at the Base chakra this crystal focuses energy needed to meet challenges & encourages optimism & discipline. It also helps shed light on the practical steps needed to achieve goals.

Hello Anjil
Could you please help?My wife is reading a beginners book about cystal healing as she is considering taking a course to become a crystal healer. She has a rose quartz (rough not polished). What is the best way to clean this crystal as her pendulum says not to clean with water.

What i do, if i cannot use water, is sit quietly by myself holding the crystal in closed cupped hands in front of me. Then i imagine myself standing under a waterfall of pure clear water holding my hands with the crystal under the flow of water. Whilst doing this I thank the divine light and ask that this crystal be blessed for only good things and if i want it for a particular task, i also bless it at this time as well. Then when i feel it is right, i just let my mind come back to reality and there my crystal has been cleansed.
You can leave them in the sun or moon light for a little while as well.

There are many methods of cleansing crystals, it often comes down tp personal preference yours or the crystals.
Mark gave a lovely way of cleansing crystals such a gentle loving method, here are some more.
Running water is fine unless you live in a hard water area, as eventually the crystals will get a scale deposit on them and some crystals should never
be put in water such as selenite or any of the opals. If in doubt don't
A gentle way of cleansing any crystal is on an amethyst druse. If the crystal has been used a lot, one day on the druse will be more than enough for any information stored on it to be cleansed. If only used for a short time i.e. in a healing session an hour should be enough.
Salt many recommend putting crystals in sat water, this I would never do as it can cause a chemical reaction that cn literally cause the crystals to 'die'. I do however use sea-salt crstals in a bowl with a glass dish on to of the sea-salt with the crystal in the dish. This way the salt won't affect the crstal, if it has been used/worn a lot 4-6hours max will be enough if only used for a short time 10mins will be enough.
I would then put them(whichever method is used to cleanse) in sunlight or moonlight for charging. As Stormdeva says not direct sunlight, sunrise or sunset are good times.

I love the suggestion of cleansing crystals under a visualised waterfall, at the moment I use Reiki to cleanse my crystals by 'intending' that any negative energies are released as positive energy and used for the good of the universe. If I use the waterfall method can I cleanse more than one crystal at a time and if yes should they be similar [sm=grouphug.gif]- say all my jaspers or agates?
