Question:
Just wanted to share this experience with you & see if anybody else has experienced something similar - as I never have! One of my clients was cleansing a piece of magnetite in a glass of water (with crab apple bach remedy) & she said that in the middle of the night she heard this loud crack and then glass shattering...she went to investigate & lo & behold the glass had completely shattered & looked like tiny diamonds!!! The crystal was fine as was the glass shelf the glass was sat on! It was so loud that it woke her up. I've never had anything like that happen to me & I use that method of cleasing my crystals all the time....sometimes a glass bowl though. Magnetite is not a crystal I've used before...any ideas or similar stories?

Have to say that sounds amazing! I haven't expereinced that myself.
Hmm, perhaps the crystal didn't like the addition of the remedy.
Also, a word of caution, generally crystals ending in 'ite' should not be immersed in water. I wonder whether that particular crystal is toxic in water, and the glass broke so that the water couldn't be used.
Worth checking out.

Thanks for your feedback, I'll tell her not to cleanse it in water again! Thats the thing with crystals - we're always learning :D Its so valuable being able to share our experiences.

Hi
Personally I don't think there's anything wrong with cleansing magnetite or lodestone in water, however, using Crab apple in the water would be an insult implying the stone was unclean which is totally different to needing cleansing. Perhaps a drop of Rescue Remedy would help reverse the trauma.
I would suggest that if water is the cleansing method of choice, then the crystals always be cleansed under running water, so that the negativity can be washed away and not allowed to soak back in, like a shower rather than a bath really, washing away the dirt rather than sitting in dirt soup!
Crystals with -ite can be cleansed under water too, just use the running method and don't let them ever soak or sit. There are a few that would leach their metal into the water and make it toxic and another few that would dissolve or be eroded but most are ok. Its only a sluuuush not a soak!
Cleansing crystals in water is fine, but making elixirs with certain crystals immersed in water isn't as some crystals are toxic.
As long as we understand the difference then that's ok, but it is worth mentioning that as a rule of thumb, crystals ending in 'ite' should not be immersed in water when making elixirs.

Sorry Rosi , I don't see the word elixir anywhere?
Personally my opinion on making home elixirs or essences is don't! Leave it to qualified practitioners full stop!
I'm aware the word elixir wasn't mentioned anywhere, I just felt impressed to mention elixirs!
I suppose that is one solution, I make elixirs all the time at home but with the help of Spirit, and I am lucky that they tell me which to immerse in water and which ones not to.
If in doubt though, place the crystal in a glass and immerse the glass in water, the healing properties of the crystal will still be transfered into the water.
