Question:
Hello everyone,
I'm so thrilled about something I'm about to do that I wanted to share. I have been accepted by my daughter's senior school to offer Reiki/EFT to the students who are taking their GCSE's in June! I have called it the 'Stress Buster's Club' and will be holding two after-school sessions and two lunchtime sessions in December and am aiming at teaching them methods of reducing their stress levels while meeting coursework deadlines and eventually sitting their GCSE's! This will include EFT, breathing Exercises and visualisations and sending Reiki to thew group ( I am having up to 8 students a session). While being shown the room that the school has made availabe for me I was talking to the Deputy Head and some of the office staff and they then asked if I could hold sessions for staff as well!!
I can't believe all this has grown out of a conversation I had with my own 15yr old last month and offering to do this for just her and her friends. The idea seemed to take on a life of its own and I have seen it spread out to other areas involving young people in our area. My local PCT loved the idea and put my name forward to the Connexions/Open Door team and I have had a meeting with their Intervention Team manager who also thinks this could be good for their troubled youth.
Who knows where this will end? Watch this space lol!

WELL DONE YOU, what a lovely thing to do for the students, will be interesting to see the pass rates for groups you have worked with. Good to know you are out there blazing the trail and waving the flag for the rest of us.

I too work closely witht the Connexion Teams. It is a great stepping stone for any career to take. This is where possible Government Contracts come from.

Just seen this post and I too want to add my own pat on the back to you!!![sm=hug.gif] I really DO think this is a wonderful story which grew from a small comment into something which is going to help so many young students. I remember all the O levels I had to do in 1973 and was so very stressed at the time - could have done with something like that at the time myself! Not only are you helping all these youngsters but you'll be raising their awareness too to something most will never have heard of. Not forgetting all the overworked staff of the school who'll be getting your wonderful expertise too!
