Question:
Hi Again....
How many go into a meditate state when sending healing? I cant seem to go into any meditate state, which at times conerns me but at the same time, even though I am very aware of being in the here and now, the healing still flows very well through me...
I would love to be able to go much deeper and make a deeper connection with spirit.. but just cannot seem to at the mo...
So how many of u go deep and how many are in the here and now.. and when u go deep what kind of things do u feel?

Flower very deep with total surrender I just allow the guided messages and healing to flow through me.
This is usually to do with trust and surrender.
Do you begin with Gassho and Reji-Ho ?
lots of love and reiki hugs

not sure of what gassho and reji ho is forgive the ignorance! some things work for one but dont necessarily work for another. with some just the act of placing of hands and the intention to heal is enough for the energy to flow. beleive in yourself you are a wonderful human beingxxx
i always go into a trance like state, i guess this is the healing guides and as Kim said you just give yourself into it, trusting and being, like a conduit, a beam of light. i used to be like you, that is i used to expect something miraculous and the expecting something often filled my head, now i dont expect anything i just say reiki/healing on as i am spiritual/psychic healer and it just happens. i guess if you expect something it doesnt happen the greatest things happen when we least expect it.
hope this helps

I just usually go with the flow. Sometimes I go into a meditative state, sometimes I don't. The energy flows either way, so that's all that matters.
Hi Sacred..
I was not taught Gasso or Reji Ho... all I know is that as soon as I think right going to send healing now esp if I am talking on line.. it just goes off to the person and at that time I dont even know its going.. so it starts before I go upstairs, relax etc.

OK Gassho and Reiji Ho are part of the Japanese Reiki Techniques recommend you catch up with the news from Japan.
There are a few Reiki Masters in Europe teaching the methods, Paul our moderator, myself, Taggart and some others. Willaim Rand in the US and Walter Lubeck in Germany.
Recommend that you get Dr Usui's Original Manual by Dr Usui and Frank Arjava Petter

Hi Flower
I would not worry about it as you seem to be doing fine without using any rituals which might just get into the way of your natural channelling, but please do look and try them yourself as you never know until you have tried it :-)
Flower any bookshop or internet shop like www.amazon.co.uk
I feel it is our responsibility as Reiki Masters to keep our students as informed and up to date as possible.

Hi All
Thanks for all the interesting info on this. I too worry sometimes because I don't seem to go into a meditative state and I worry that I might miss any messages or signals. I guess it's a case of trying to hard and not quite letting go fully.
Mind you, I'm still quite "new" at this and find it difficult not to let thoughts of my day job, relationship etc float into my mind during Reiki [:@]
I have the Usui handbook and I'm going to delve into it a bit more.
Thanks for your help

Hello Everyone - do we need to be in a meditative state to give Reiki? To me it is such a beautifully simple thing, as long as I set my intent the Reiki flows - but as I consider I am a channel for the energy, meditating would neither make it a 'better' or 'less good' experience surely? I can see that self-healing opens us as a clearer channel but haven't felt the need to meditate when giving a treatment. Isn't it interesting how differently we all see/use the energy?
Hi Sweet P
No we do not need to be in a meditative state to channel the energy but the closer you get to your higher self the better the channelling, I think meditative state is perhaps the wrong terminology for we are still very much aware of what is going on both in ourselves and the person we are sharing the energy with, I tend to think of it as a relaxed state where your consciousness merges with your higher self and the energy and away it goes.
It might also depend a lot on where you are on your own personal journey as to how you achieve this but at some stage it all comes together and you smile inwardly and just go with the flow.
Hi Kim
What flower essences do you recommend? I've never used them before.
Thanks
Jane
Hello Paul - thank you for your answer - yes, I think perhaps terminolgy is getting in the way here. My relaxed serenity (I think that best describes it!) when giving Reiki is not what I would call a meditative state but perhaps others would. I like the 'smile inwardly' that's a very good description. Best wishes
Hi everyone,
The surrendering to the energy and the listening to the hands on the recipient by the Reiki-giver - in fact any form of healing - engenders a state of oneness with the recipient and all things - whether deliberate or not. As such it could be called meditation.
It is a noticeable thing that if a healer commences to give healing to another person in a crowded and busy room they develop a zone of peace and quiet around them. Talkers drop their voices to whispers without realising what they are doing. It is the oneness with the energy again causing this.
The use of Gassho (the bringing together of hands) and Reiji-Ho (Connecting to the Energy) is, like most of the rituals in Reiki, optional. If YOUR method works for you and your clients get benefit then please don't change what you do.
It is unfortunate that there is a greater fragmentation within Reiki caused by the Japanese Reiki techniques. There appear to be at least THREE - Usui-do, Teate and Gakkai - and further fragmentation by Hiroshi Doi Sensei teaching his Gendai Reiki Ho (Modern Method for Reiki Healing) based on a mixture of Gakkai Reiki, Usui-do, Teate and Doi Sensei's own techniques.
Reiki is Reiki whether you use Western (Hayashi/Takata) or Japanese techniques.
I teach both methods as a broad base so that the practitioner can find and develop their own personal way of giving Reiki.
This is how I see the situation and I hope that it helps to clarify the position in everyone's minds.
