EFT course on video question
Question:

I downloaded the emofree manual some months ago and have been using EFT successfully on myself and my sister. I haven't bought any of the EFT videos yet but am thinking about it now, and looking on the internet have noticed that the videos seem to be courses in themselves.

Does anyone know, in order to qualify as an EFT practitioner and get insurance, would you need to have attended a real life training course or would the EFT videos be enough?

Hi Sebenny
You can become an EFT practitioner by following the DVD's as many people have done. You can then either apply to become EFT CC which means by correspondence course or you can practice without a qualification, as such. EFT CC is available via Gary Craigs website and costs a minimal amount.
Another way isyou can attend one of the many courses or wprkshops that arerun by either companies or individuals that are accredited by experienced organisationssuch as The AMT or The AAMET. Both haveset of standardsof skill that you achieve and you then get a certificate to show clients that you have attaineda certainlevel of skill and experience.
It does not matter which way you choose to do it, no way is better than another, other than what each oneworks for you as an individual. Some people prefer to do it via correspondence, some just watching DVD's, some only using the free manual, some via the The AMT or via The AAMET. Finally, you can go and see a practitioner or trainer and get some one to one tuition and learn that way.
So I am sure you will agree, choices are available and support is plentiful. Which one you choose to follow is down to how well each one suits either your budget, geographical locationor time available. Of course, not forgetting how well you get on with the person or company that you approach.
Hop that helps.

Thanks Steve. If I trained using the videos and then became EFT CC do you know if I would be able to get insurance so that I could practice professionally?

Answers:

Yes I believe you can. Your insurance will want to see a certificte and Gary's should suffice.

Although... even though I have the necessary certificates for both Reiki and EFT, my insurance co. did not ask to see them, they just gave me the insurance.

LOL, honestly!
On a more serious note, if there was a claim, the insurance wouldn't pay out if the relevant certificates weren't there.

Oh indeedely, I would never advice obtaining insurance without the necessary qualifications. Just found it odd that they didn't even ask to see mine.

Just wondering... Has anyone been sued in a reiki or eft case?

Giles - as I pointed out at the weekend, you use the phrase 'even though' way too much these days!! ;)
Not heard of anyone being sued.
One thing to note though, I have trained with the AAMT and an AMT practitioner has said I would have to REDO my practitioner level course in order to attend his advanced courses, I am not sure why this is and I've found it very limiting as he's the only one in the area who teaches the courses I am hoping to take, the syllabus covered very similar things and I've done all the DVDs now and have a years experience.
