Hi Survivor
MET is a combination of energy therapies that are taught bycertain organisations. These can include TAT, BSFF, EMDR, EFT etc.
The difference between EFT and EmoTrance is that EFT uses tapping to release blocked energy. EmoTrance uses the intention of your mind to soften and release blocked energy allowing it to find a natural route out of your body. It does this very elegantly by noticing what an emotion (as an example) feels like in your body. You then describe it and then observe it soften and flow through and out of your body.
It is a wonderful therapy that perfectly compliments EFT and is very often used in conjunction with it.
It can also be used very effectively over the phone or with people that are uncomfortable doing the tapping.
Hope that helps.

My book on Emotrance (Oceans of Energy vol 1) arrived last week and I have now finished reading it. i have to say it is a wonderful addition to using EFT. I can see times now when I will still use EFT and others I will use Emotrance. I have been doing EFT now for about 3 years and have dealt with loads of massive issues using it, however I was aware that there were a couple of things that I couldn't 'get at'. I knew they were there, but just couldn't access them. I think Emotrance will really help me access some of these things. The chapter on shields was really useful to me as it made me really reflect on how I process negative emotions (basically I don't for ages, then have a mini-breakdown).

I tried Emotrance out last night for the first time in the cinema. Normally I cry at any film, I only have to hear violin music and start blubbing! As I find this so embarrassing, my normal response is to fight it. Last night I decided to Emotrance it instead. Everytime something happened that I had an emotional reponse to, I welcomed that energy in and let it flow through me, noticing what where it wanted to go. I really enjoyed the film and didn't cry the whole way through (this is a massive change in behaviour for me, I've been known to cry at Eastenders and kitten food adverts! :)). It's a lot less obvious than the tapping of EFT and it worked.

I have had so much benefit from EFT that I would cheerfully recommend it to anyone, but I'm so excited about also using Emotrance as I think they can work together perfectly.

I am thinking about buying the book you have, Oceans of Energy, as it looks to be pretty good.
You mentioned that you have tried Emotrance out, I was wondering how easy was it for you to identify where in your body the emotional energy was? Having read little bits about Emotrance and then attemptingtopinpoint where the 'feeling' is in my body, I can't say I am finding it very easy, it seems to be just a general anxiety feeling. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi Sandra,
In the cinema I just dealt with whatever came up and that was reletively easy to locate as I was actually feeling the emotion at the time. However there is also stuff that I know I have to deal with that I can't feel right now and would like to work with someone on that.
In the book, Silvia says that it is easier to work with someone that on your own. One of the reasons for this is that when you work with someone you are speaking out aloud which helps you focus your attention. And also you have someone guiding you through it, observing you so that it is more focus that working alone.
The other thing is the chapter on shields. I found this really beneficial to learn that I had put up huge shields preventing certain energies into my system. She says that shields feel like a huge pressure, or numbness rather than emotional pain and she gives the protocol for removing them gently. This section of the book has helped me immesurably, this information about how to deal effectively with our emotions should really be taught in every school in the country!
Some things in my life are very well shielded, I can't feel them at all in my body but just being aware of that has been beneficial and knowing how I should be processing my emotions rather than blocking out all the nasty ones (and some of the nice ones) has really helped me understand why I am the way I am!
For example, some things I can't get at just yet but I know I will deal with them soon. However, this morning I thought about a former colleague that I dislike intensly. She is a really bitter woman and was horrible to me when we worked together. I thought about allowing some of this woman's energy into my system and I shot backwards across the room with my hands over my mouth and eyes, my head turned away from where I had imagined her, thinking 'NO!' That is a massive shield! I didn't do any more with it, but I'm guessing my reaction was so strong that it means i have some work to do there! It probably explains why we didn't work well together!
Anyway just realised I have written an essay. I think Steve would be a good person to ask too. I was wondering if the second book has more in it about removing sheilds and healing the energy channels as the book tells you how to do it, but I would like more examples. Anyway - do get the book!
