Question:
Hi all,
I have become a temporary member of this forum because I want to avoid embarresment, respectthe service I am gettingyet not deprive myself of the maximum benefitof treatment. So I therefore seek advicevirtually anonomously.
Heres the facts!
I have been having a mixture of reflexology and lower leg massage for around 3 years because of a restless tension in my legs that hinders my sleep and at its worse I needed to rub them in the mornings to start the day right when I get up.
The treatment at once a month gradually took effect and is very relaxing. A win win situation!
I have recently changed therepist due to retirement of my original.
After my new consultation, the lady suggested that the massage could be extended to full leg. I had been thinking about this anyway and agreed.
The treatment took place and was fantastic. It was not intrusive, but I had to conciously steer my thoughts to household bills and trips to the dentist e.t.c. at a certain point because having been only with a long term partner (15 yrs) I got the first arousal stages[:o]. I swear this was not a conscious thing.
Nothing to write home about and I'm reasonably confident that a few treatments down the line and my brain will happilyadapt tothis. I do not require 'extras'.
What would a therapist expect?
I hope you can see why I don't want to mention this to her.
I mean, are you kind of used to the odd moment and proffesionally handle it?
Or would it be a nasty shock if there were any stages of unnecessary towel lump?
Hellllp!
I would prefer the full treatment but can not afford to lose what has been successful up to now.
Is it unusual or commmon?
Honesty appreciated and thanks for your understanding.
Hi temporary memberWhat you think is going to happen probably won't, just relax and drift of if possible, most people only get touched by people they are intimate with so it is natural to feel something when someone treats you in an area you are not used to being treated.Incidentally most restless leg problems come from the groin, the femoral nerve gets trapped in the tendons at the side of the groin and you get pains and/or discomfort in your legs when you try and relax. The treatment is very uncomfortable and I have not had anyone get turned on by the treatment in all the years I have been applying it to treat this and other similar problems, the treatment is the same for males and females :-)
Hi Temp. member,
As a female therapist, I guess that I would take it as a compliment to the quality of my work if a male client got aroused. Assuming that I am not so foccused on what I am doing to notice a "lump" somewhere in your anatomy;). But I would not mention anything about it.If the client said something like "sorry, it's involuntary"I would answer "that's part of nature" while keeping on with the treatment.
Have you rebooked a session? As Paul said, you'll soon settle into the new treatment and nothing more will happen...
Artemis
Thankyoufor your replies,
Your experience and outlook has indeed re-assured me that the sooner I accept itsnatural and common the sooner I will be able to drift off without a hint. No need to reduce treatment and no needfor and embarressingExplaination upfront of the next session.
Armetis,
Yes the session is booked, thats my reason for the initial post.
Paul,
We have been working on the basis that my restless leg problem is circulatory so I have also increased my daily exercise, I'll keep in mind the femoral nerve theory...thanks!
I'm finding this helpful and in turn, fascinating so please continue the thread...anyone?
Oh well its off to work I go !
