Mineral Cosmetics
Question:

I have recently been reading Leslie Kenton's 'Skin Revolution' book and am curious about mineral cosmetics. Has anyone tried them and what do they think? The one that Leslie mentions is Jane Iredale's products, but there must be others as well. I like the sound of them but they do seem a little on the expensive side.

Hi Piglet
We use Jane Iredale Products at my salon. I think the makeup range is excellent. The colours are all extremely natural and when you are wearing the makeup, your skin can breathe properly - it doesn't even feel like you are wearing makeup at all. We have had excellent results from clients, as we use if mainly for wedding makeup. It lasts extremely well all day. You can go to their website and read more about it The makeup is expensive but you do not need to use alot of it and so it does last for quite a while longer than the products that you buy from boots etc.
The makup gives excellent coverage for clients with bad skin and it also helps the skin by working with any problems such as eczema etc.
Hope this helps

Hi Calmspirits
Thank you for your thoughts on the Jane Iredale cosmetics. I think I shall give them a try as my curiosity is getting the better of me and they do sound very good. I also like the fact that they act as a sunscreen as well without chemical additives. Your thoughts are much appreciated.

Hi Piglet,
i.d. bareMineralsis another mineral cosmetic range you might want to check out. They are manufactured by Bare Escentuals and distributed in the UK by Cosmeceuticals (). I'm afraid I don't know of any friends who use or stock the line, but industry colleagues at a training course I attended with Cosmeceuticals back in April had good things to say about it.
Hope that helps :)
