Nutrition Qualifications
Question:

Hi,
I am hoping to gain a qualification in Nutrition but don't know which level is appropriate. I eventually want to be a Holistic Therapist offering all kinds of treatments and I want to offer nutritional advice. I currently only have a Massage certificate and I know I have a long way to go. I also work full-time so I don't have much time to study. Also, the college in Manchester wants around £6000for a 2 year course??? (Can't afford that!!) Does anyone have any advice?

I would also like to study nutrition in the near future.
ITEC Diet & Nutrition course is about £300.
I wonder if there is other qualifications which I may be able to apply.
Hopefully, someone can tell us a list of different qualifications.

I'm currently studying the VTCT Diploma in non-medical nutrition advice and am really enjoying it. I'm doing it via a correspondence course with Suzanne Le Quesne. I did see a while back that she was going to cease taking new students after August, but I see it's still available from her website. PM me if you want more details.
Like you, Linzzee, I want to offer various holistic therapies and be able to offer nutrition advice alongside. But aside from the professional aspect, I'm learning so much interesting stuff that it's gradually having an impact on my diet, which can only be a good thing.

Hi,
Does anyone know howyou can use the ITEC qulification in Nutrition whilst working?
What does it allow you to do?
Give people advice? Or is it just for gaining knowledge whilst doing other treatments?
Thanks

... so tell me more about the course. i have a background of 20 years in organic food retailing and catering; i have a brilliant/good/alright diet (depending on whether you are junk food nut/look after your diet/god!)

I am chasing down the emotional healing and diet road eventually, to encompass the whole person still. there is a good course in ireland, also 6K, which "reads" really good, it is accredited to the "British Association for Nutritional Therapy" ... so i reckon they may be a good route.
in a low tech way diet has always ben there and always will be. cooking the godamn thing is even bigger, know why is one thing know how another. cookery school on the way too.

Hi,
Regarding courses in nutrition I was wondering if someone knew about natural nutrition diet one year intensive course (www.natnut.co.uk).
If someone did it then I would not mind having you view on the course as I am thinking of doing it.
Thanks
Al.
