How do you store or keep your crystals/stones?
Question:

Hi....I've been keeping my crystals and stones for a couple of days just laid out on a nice flufffy towel to get some air and some sun ( not harsh or terribly direct)...after I cleaned them. I usually keep them in pots of fresh soil. Lately though I've been trying to come up with a way to keep them so I can see whats what...(in the soil I end up having to unearth many just to get to one). I've read that some people keep crystals on a bed or another crystal geode or cluster. Any ideas?.

Hello Charish
You can keep your crystals anywhere you like ~ where you feel they are comfortable, bearing in mind that Amethyst and Rose Quartz don't like direct sunlight.
Until just recently I had most of mine either layed out on a small table ready for use, or on various units around my thereapy room...none in direct sunlight, and all happy....
They are all packed away now ready for my forthcoming move[&:]

Mine are packed away in about 3 little plastic boxes with seperate compartments that I got from Wickes. They usually sit in our study/work room near the window. Many of our larger crystals though are on display - wands, clusters etc and of course the skulls. Ease of access is probably the key and wherever the crystals look and feel happy.
From time to time I do take them out and put them on the window sill or around the garden. They will soon let you know if they are not happy anyway - they have a way of doing that.

Hi,
Once I've charged the crystals and cleansed and protected them they can go anywhere. I just keep them on a shelf. They never need recharging or cleansing so they're ready for use when I need them....and close by.

All my crystals are on display, on the book shelves, between ornaments, window ledges etc. When I need one, I cleanse and programme it.
They are all happy, bright and healthy.

Hi there
Well that depends, I cleanse mine, when hey tell me to, but they seem to be rather happy on the shelves in my therapy room. I have two alters in the house, one in the main bed room, where I have my large amathyst geode and various spheres, candles. And another in my therapy room (nothing too dramatic)
I do have a couple of crystals that need to be kept in pouches as their energy is very precise and sharp. (lazer wand`s)
They tell me how they like to be cleansed where they like to be placed, its great:D

I keep all of my crystals, amulets, stones, and rings on a piece of whiterabbit fur atop of my nightstand beside my bed. The largest one I have is a piece of kyanite on a wood stand, behind a6"resin statue of Shiva. On my nightsand Ialso have a candle, and around carved ebony container for water.Plusa charcoal burner, and a box of various mystical insence. Oh, andI have a singing bowl, which I usually place a piece of moldavite and clear quartz to amplifyomnipotent energy in my space. And I also have a picture of my beloved Paramhansa Yogananda.
So all of the elements are included : Fire, Wind, Earth, and Water.
I also have a black velvet pouch, so when i want to put some stones under my pillow (usually jade and black onyx, or moldavite with black onyx, or whatever with black onyx), I will have dreams, visions, and astral projections amany.

lol charish,
a perennial question for me. I have a growing collection of crystals, stones and rocks which have long since outgrown fitting in any convenient box.
I am still trying to find a solution to storing them. I want them out so I can see them and hold them, but I also want them packed away neatly and ready to use lol! But I also want to be able to see what I have at a glance.
I tend to move mine around. At the moment I have two altars set up with a selection of crystals around, I have one on my work desk (just one! I am trying to look so normal!) and I have lots about the house.
Generally I find a good rule of thumb is to use larger pieces around the house and others as altar and touch stones until you need them.
I also hoarde small boxes and containers and put stones of the same type together so thery're ready to use for one-gem crystal layouts.
But if you find the perfect storage solution then please post back and share it! ;-)

Tinamay, thats cool you have crystals that you grow. Im sure they are enchanting, and glow with a mystical sparkle.
I would not store the crystals.I wouldplace them in areas of the house so their energy could fill the space. Perhaps put them on the floor where you meditate, especially if they are large.
I like to put mine on my table with mycandle. I meditate infront of this. And I see that the natural light canenchant the soul with light, and also the crystal.
Candlelight bathes thy crystal in luminous warmth. The crystal stores thisenergy, and transmitts it throughout its radiance.
Let your mind attune with the crystal, calm your thoughts as to reflect the innerlightwhich a crystal can present. If your mind is still, it will pick up the subtle vibrations that the crystal is transmitting.
The physical appearance alone cannot describe the full effect of crystal energy. The crystals energetic makeup reflectsfine vibrations of thecosmic, andcan do many different things to filterand recieve these subtle vibrations.
Tell me, what kind of crystals do you have growing? and how large are they exactly?
I am interested. Theseitems seem popular amongst the masses. Perhaps then all who lived in Atlantis, are now re-emerging on their spiritual path through the circle of time.

Hi Elyezual,
I'm afraid I'm going to have to disappoint you and say that I just meant that my collection was growing... ie I keep on getting more and more. I didn't mean that I was actually physically growing crystals from scratch.
Now I feel really boring... I like the magical idea of growing them. I do actually have a crystal growing kit but haven't started it yet .
However, in a sense my crystals are growing - as their auras and energy will grow and strengthen and take on bits from healings etc that I do.
Of course I do cleanse my crystals after working with them, but I still beleive that they keep some of the energy - or are changed from the healing experience. Just as our own energy bodies remember and retain all that happens, so do crystals. Otherwise we wouldn't be able to tap into their energies or connect to their essence.
But sorry again Elyezual for sounding more magical than I was!

I like everyone's ideas! If you need to carry your crystals around for mobile therapy or demonstrations, my husband has just informed me that B&Q do a fabulous toolbox with several trays and dividers that you can move around to suit yourself - perfect for crystals on the go. I knew it was useful being married to a carpenter! ;)

Nice to hear about everyone's different approaches. I like to leave my crystal friends out in the open. This way their energies come together in my prayer room and create a wonderful atmosphere, and they can also breathe. The cat often peers through the window wanting to come in because the energies look so tempting :D I prefer to sit them natural materials: wood, cotton etc.
I place them either on a window sill where they can recharge in the sun or moonlight, or on bookshelves. I sit them down cleansed, but sometimes they might need recleansing before I work with them. For example agate, malachite and chrysocolla absorb negativity very quickly from the atmosphere and so it helps to place them under running water before including them in crystal work.
A few people have mentioned leaving crystals out of sunlight. I can see this being a prob in a sunny place like California where there is so much continuous bright sunlight. But so far none of my amethysts or others have faded by being sat in the our much gentler English summer sun. Anyone had different experiences?
