manicure/pedicure routine
Question:

very rusty, did training about 10 years ago and apart from yself havent really been asked to do either till recently. I lent out my college notes and portfolios so dont have anything to refer to and would rather not have to go buying books if i can help it.
Does anyone have a routine that they can share.
By routine I mean in what order they do things and what products they prefer to use.
TIA
Eleanor

Hi Eleanor
Here is the routine as I learnt it and still practice:
1. Inspection of Client's hands
2. Remove jewellery and wipe over each hand with suitable antiseptic solution
3. Removal of varnish
4. Filing and bevelling
5. Buffing
6. Apply cuticle cream and then place hand in soapy water
7. Repeat 1 - 6 on other hand
8.First hand dried thoroughly and other hand placed in bowl.
9. Cuticle work
10. Repeat on other hand
11. Clean nails with soft brush - exfoliate optional
12. Check filing!
13. Application of hand cream and massage
14. Squeak nails
15. Varnish
Hope this helps but let me know if something isn't clear.
Love
Sorry- forgot to add that I use Mavala products for the nail care and OPI varnishes for the finishing.
Also before I massagethe hand I use a handmask from Mavala which is justgorgeous - apply a small amount of mask and put their hands in plastic gloves for 5-10 mins. After rinsing the hands feel very soft.

we have been tought to do a hand massage in our routine. but can any one tell me if i used hot oils or a hand mask, would i do this instead of the massage?
oh and EMJ, the routine i use is jsut the same as lotusflower.

Answers:

I tend to do a mask and a massage. The mask is good for softening the hands but I massage the hands and arms as well.
