Hi everyone
Just wondered if any of you had thoughts on one of the experiences I consistently get when doing reiki?
At a certain point during the reiki (it can be at any time) my eyes sting intensely and begin to water...not sad crying but purely a physical watering. (However, when I get that surge it does give me a wave of emotion because its so dramatic and clearly the reiki doing it!)
Anyway, I have often wondered if there may be a reason for it / associated with something in particular and hoped to pick some eminent brains on HP!
By the way, it happens both when I self treat and also treating others.

I tend to get this when receiving reiki using the position where the hands rest over the thid eye and eyes. With one man in particular at my reiki shares it is very intense indeed.. with others it's normally just a warmth.
Does this happen with certain positionings or certain intentions? Are you intending to soothe feelings and emotions ir work on the physical body when this happens? You may be picking up on the clients feelings or it may be the release of a blockage. If you are treating a client when it happens, ask them at the end of the treatment if they experienced anything in particular at that point in the treatment.
If yo do feel you're picknig up the recipients emotions and you are uncomfortable in doing this (I get the impression you are not) you can ground yourself or protect yourself when you come to this point.
If you think on an emotional chakral level you may fnid a correlation between the emotional things which are going on in that persons life and the area you are intending to treat.. a scan with either your hands or by dowsing may help you pinpoint this.
I get it after lots of yawning, and I yawn when clients (usually) or I (if I'm working on myself) release a lot of energy. My clients simply find it funny and are reassured they are getting their money's worth, so just go with it and be sure to explain that it is going to happen.

Lovely to hear your thoughts ... I thought about the idea of picking up emotions rom the client but on questioning them it tends to vary as to whether they experienced anything at the same time as me or not.
It also varies as to what position or intention I am giving.
In fact, to be perfectly honest, it seems to kick in mainly if my mind begins to wander - so I wonder if it may be linked to me being more open to the energy (i.e. not trying too hard!)
I, like you, experience it when someone else treats me and also consistently with all my attunements. Quite often its only the one eye that waters (curiouser and curiouser..!)

Yes. It's a great gift imho :)
Hi,
I tend to find that eye watering is linked to the liver.
People with very toxic livers tend to rub their eyes a great deal. If I have been exercising and then do Reiki, ,my eyes water more as any toxins are being released. Also think about how your eyes are tired or sting after drinking alcohol.
When I first started healing I found I was sweating a great deal - again liver releasing.
I'd suggest more self healing and more water.
