Question:
Hi All
I am new to the forum and currently at reiki two but looking to extend my therapies before setting up a practice. I would be very grateful if anyone can advise me on courses or good tutors I could train with. I find the long distance ones a bit suspect!!!! but cant afford to do a two year course in hypnotherapy. Suggestions warmly welcomed.
Hi Kitten,
My ex-supervisor advertises through HP and he is very good, so is Paul McKenna. Both offer shorter and more intensive courses and I usually recommend them. On the financial side, I'm afraid you do get what you pay for, and when you are dealing with someone's mind, it really requires good training. I do training for other things and have seen many qualified hypnotherapists come to me whom I would not have given a certificate to practise had I been their tutor or on their examining board. They are well-meaning people but they are in danger of messing up someone's mind because they were either not taught how to do hypnosis safely or were given a certificate to practise even though they were not ready. Also after you graduate, you need to put money aside each month to pay for supervision. So bearing all this in mind, you may prefer to save up and wait to do it properly. Just my thoughts...
I agree with everything you say Suzanne! It isn't cheap to learn it properly but well worth itin the long run.
Hugs
Steve
