Question:
Hello everyone
I am going to the doctors today for a second attempt at syringing - have decided I will go to alternative if it doesnt work again but wondered if i could have some info on ear candling having never done it before:
Is this something people train in properly? What should I be looking for in a healer? How would I find a good one in Swindon? Does it hurt! I need my hearing so am a bit anxious about mucking about with my ears [:-] The syringing has left me with pains in the ear that wasnt a problem in the first place you see.
Well I will stop wittering on now - lol.
If you do a search for Linda Stokes or Sue Maunsell on google there should be a link on their site listing all the people they've trained. Otherwise have a look on hp or the fht or Embody websites and look there for a therapist who offers candling in your area.. I think they do them by postcode.
You have to be a fully qualified bodyworker to train in ear candling, by bodywork I mean massage / reflexology / shiatsu or something similar.
The treatment itself doesn't take long, half an hour tops and many therapists offer reiki or a quick back / face massage after the treatment to give you a nice boost. The treatment is completely pain free.. the candle rests just inside the ear or just outside if you've a tiny ear.. all you do is lie down, relax, switch off from the outside world andlet the candles do their work.. people normally start to see results after the first treatent although you may need a few to really get things shifting.
A good therapist will also look at your lifestyle and see if any improvements can be made in that regard to improve your chances of the problems maintaining themselves.
Hi
I think ear candling is definatley something to think about, my mum was suffering badly with her ears and the doctor senther to have them syringed, but she did find this painful and made her feel like she was going to faint.
Since qualifying in ear candling i have done her ears for her and she has seen a great improvement she can hear better and she feels that the pressure has been relieved. All i do now is give her a treatment when she feels them starting to be uncomfy again usually every 2-3 months.
The best bit is, its a lovely treatment, very relaxing and soothing, and its also a nice treatment to give from the therapists point of view too ;). My mum says she would never go back to syringing now after having the candles!
A great alternative for you to think about.
