Question:
Hi
Be grateful for some advice please.
A lady phoned wanting to buy a gift voucher for a friend for a Reflexology and Indian Head Massage treatment, on the same day. The friend has MS where some days are worse than others. She is not immobile and not on any medication. I can't find any specific info on having the two treatments together and obviously I don't want to make the lady feel worse.
Can anyone let me know if it would be quite alright to do both treatments or would just Reflexology be better.
Many thanks
I personally only do refelxology so can't advise specifically on IHM but I would advise any client who comes to me for a full reflex treatment not to have any other treatments within 24 hours, especially if it's the first one for fear of a huge healing crisis!! However, if the 2 are compatible, you could offer to do half reflex and half IHM, so in effect one full treatment time wise. Why can't she some back a week later for the second treatment? She's bound to feel more benefit this way.

Thank you for your reply Sarah. I tend to agree with you on not giving two full treatments in 24 hours, but the lady in question lives 20 miles away and does not have transport. Her friend, who wants to buy the gift voucher for her, lives near to me, so has asked if I could do a house call. I would obviously have to charge a little extra for fuel costs and I think this is possibly the reason she would like it done on the same day. I am doing a special offer at the moment so she wouldn't really benefit from this. I feel the lady with MS would benefit from a course of Reflexology treatments only.
Thanks again Sarah

Hi bjay,
I would agree with you and only do the one treatment, as when I first started training I was doing reflexology and indian head massage and was ill for ages due to the healing crisis, our tutor always says to have just one treatment at a time.
Hope everything goes well
