Period Pains
Question:

Has anyone had any success with anything natural for period pains? Something instantanous or something taken all month?

Hi Trudy
There are many things you can do naturally, but not all will be instanteous and most holistic remedies need to get to the core of the problem. In the case of period pain this is mostly hormonal.
You can massage the back and abdomen with a nice massage oil using geranium, sweet orange, sweet marjoram essential oils.
Herbally you can try crampbark tincture.
However, ideally you should visit a practitioner - herbalist, homeopath, aromatherapist, acupuncturist, reflexologist etc for the best advice. They can get to the core of the problem and help like that.
I am seeing a herbalist for my menstrual problems and it has worked so well. As an aromatherapist, I make myself a blend to massage into my abdomen and back too.
Also - if the pain is very bad or changes suddenly you should contact your GP to get checked out before undertaking any self help.

Starflower capsules and oil of evening primrose capsules will help with periods, have reduced the painful breasts I get every month and I never get period pains.
Also, chamomile tea is great for stomach upsets or period pains.

I agree.
Personal tips: Mag Phos is good for period cramps. Chamomile tea. But the best ever remedy I ve found- and it works every time, is doing light long yoga stretches...keeping breath nice deep smooth and natural. .as its helping meridian flow, but needs to be continuous- so going from one stretch into another (certain back bends and certain upsidownee ones arent to be recommended at this time of month though).Accupressure points can help (but best to get book to know whats not recommended for certain things). tiger balm on the tummy also helps -its very soothing. But need to check if allergic or not.
