Question:
Hi everyone,
I've not posted in this particular forum before, although I am a regular visiter. I have heard many stories lately of women, in particular, that have visited hypnotherapists to change the shape of their bodies - namely for breast enlargement/reduction. This seems to be done using the power of the mind and visualisation techniques. What are your thoughts on this and has anyone heard of any therapists that offer the chance to try this?

I think one should first find out the statistics on the actual long term success rates of these 'treatments', if there actually was any?

I agree - I think you would definitely need to look at the statistics. It had just intrigued me after reading about it on several occasions. I guess it is feasable as people using mind therapies all the time to lose weight or to alter their self-image or confidence. I believe that there must be something in it but would love to know more. It is just knowing where to look?

I can't answer your question in relation to hypnotherapy but I had read this about EFT which might be interesting:

Thanks for that link, Sarah. I hadn't really heard of EFT before but that has helped clarify what it is. I guess either way could work if it were due to emotional issues, it sounds really interesting. Have you got any idea where I might look to find a qualified practitioner?
Thank you

We each create our own reality, and so if we perceive our thoughts in a positive light then its the first step in the process of our thoughts becoming reality. SO if you imagine yourself being slim and elegant, then feel it, somehow if you continue this thought process, other realities come your way for you to truly enhance these thoughts into reality.
