natural remedy for headache
Question:

I am looking for an alternative to my usual painkillers for headache and migraine. I have had an addiction to painkillers for many years which is just now under control, Thank God.
HP member alit (veggie queen) told me about tiger balm which I am hoping to get soon.
I would love to know what other members find helpful for headaches and/or migraines.
Many Thanks,
Suzanne

Hi suzanne
You could try a bit of crystal therapy, rhodocrosite lapis lazuli and amethyst are good for relieving migraines, place which ever one you chose either at the top of your spine or lay them on your forehead. You may find it beneficial to carry the stone with you at all times (for example in your pocket) to hopefully keep the headaches/migraines away.
After use cleanse them under cold running water as the crystals can absorb negativity, then dedicate them to the highest good of all.
Hope this helps

There are lots of remedies for headache through homeopathy. Depending on your symptoms will depend on which remedy will suit your needs.
If you could give us details of your headache then I could try and figure which remedy you need.
-How does it feel/make you feel
-is there a certain time of day it occurs
-do foods or fluids aggravate or alleviate it
-how frequent are they
-any unusual or peculiar symptoms accompany it
-any emotional/ mental disturbances with it
-any other physcial symptoms
This is a startxx

Thank you Therapeutic Angel, I will certainly give crystal therapy a try.
Eve, thank you very much for your kind offer. However, at the moment I don't know how to answer properly any of the questions. I do not get "normal" headaches. I am getting a headache daily. Some days are worse than others. I can't describe them as they can be different each day. I have completely messed up my system taking so many painkillers. I know I need to give it a bit of time until my brain realises it does not need codeine to function properly.
Thanks again for replies,
Suzanne xxx

I recommend going into www.abchomeopathy.com as you type in your symptoms and it gives you boxes to tick if the feelings/sensations/etcetc apply to you.
Just click onto -Online remedy finder- at top of page and you will be able to figure it out from there.
Hope you get sorted out.

Hi this is a bit late but have you tried taking Feverfew tablets? I too used to suffer daily headaches that often led to pounding migraines until i found feverfew. It does something to the blood vessels in your head to stop the pounding feeling. I now take one everyday and no longer suffer from daily headaches. ;) (Sounds like a cheesy advert but it does work) Its not a miracle cure, i do still get headaches but only every now and then and they're not half as bad. I'd definetly give them a go if you're still troubled by them.

Hi All,
Just incase others are interested in this thread.. codine, or other drugs in the same class will give you killer headaches.
Feverfew is an excellent remedey and so is Vitamin B2 - 25 mg per day.
Also, I've just learned of a new remedy for sinus or dry air headaches.
Put one tsp. of salt in 8 to 10 0z. of HOT water and make sure the salt dissoves completely. Let the water cool down a bit. Then you sort of 'snort' it by the hand full up into your nose.. try to keep your head down and don't swallow.
Do this three times a day in each nostril.
I didn't believe it, but it's working! I live in very dry air.
good luck!

PS to Suzanne.. kudos to you..that's hard to do, hope you're well.

I use EFT on mine whether it's headache or migraine and it's done the trick niceley.
In fact I was in the put with a few friends just last night and one of the people there said she had a headache coming on. I quickly did some EFT with her (as the pub was quite and nobody was around to watch apart from the other couple of friends) and she was gobsmacked afterwards because the headache had vanished.
Essie, have you ever considered that there may be an underlying cause as to why you have been getting the headaches. I'm not suggesting anything serious, but it could be that there's something in your environment or everyday life that is causing them. It could be your diet or the amount of proper liquid you drink (i.e. not alcohol) or your work environment, or relationship issues etc. There's lots of things that could be the cause and if you can identify specific things then you could easily use EFT to help remove the emotional issues that are tied up with those things and thus prevent getting the headaches in the first place. Email me if you'd like to discuss it some more.

A good remedy I use to rid myself of those dreaded headaches is to get a bottle of pure peppermint essential oil, drop a few drops of it on a hanky and breath it in every few minutes.
It really works great.
