confidence?
Question:

Hiya
Not sure if i am on the right path, but would hypnotherapy, make me more self-confident and assertive?
I would love to start my own business and am training in holistic massage and aromatherapy, but even if i do pass (and its a big if!), I don't think i would be confident enough to go out on my own, so i was wondering if there is anything i can do now to prepare me for when i do eventually qualify?
any help/thoughts would be gratefuly received.

Little outside of yourself can make you more confident, apart from healing that which took away your natural born confidence. I recommend that you begin a journey of self mastery with Reiki, look into doing some self development work like inner child to solve this internal problem.
And maybe this is the track that you are meant to go down, because it is often the case that through healing the self we find our true purpose.

Sacred star
Thanks for the advice.
The thing is i know exactly why i am this way and who/what is responsible for making me feel like i do, but i am totally unable to be confident in front of others..to the point that i very rarely speak if i am in the company of strangers......which will make running my own therapyy business very difficult! LOL
I also find it extremly difficult to say no to people (which means i often feel as if i am being taken advantage of by others)
This is why i was wondering about hypnosis of even EFT(?) just as a starting block as i am not sure where to go from here :(

Hi Magicmum
Hypnotherapy is great for confidence, but as you seem to know exactly what has caused your negative feelings, then I would say that EFT may be better in this instance. It is very effective at releasing the negative feelings associated to an event, thereby freeing up yourself to feel better in the situation that you want to. You can also add some positive/confidence affirmations making it even more effective in giving you confidence.
I can't praise it high enough!!

Hi Magicmum,
I agree with Steve - the link is www.emofree.com
EFT involves literally tapping with two fingers on points in the body's energy meridian whilst tuning into the problem you want to be free from; these points can be seen on my EFT page. EFT is based on the idea that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system. EFT is great, and as you can see from me and Steve and others constantly harping on about it, there must be something about it that gets us excited!
Many people come to me for hypnotherapy in the hope that I can knock them unconscious and then when it's time to wake up, they would emerge confident and smiling, completely different people... If only! I'd be very rich by now! Hypnotherapy can help in more normal, down to earth ways. Hypnotherapy gets the message to your unconscious mind so that they go in at a deeper level. Techniques used in hypnotherapy include things like NLP and EFT.
Now lack of confidence is built up of many little incidents that knock us down. With EFT in or instead of hypnosis, these incidents can be healed and you can prepare for a future confident you.
While you are learning your massage qualifications, why not also learn EFT? I come fresh from training two massage therapists in my workshop last weekend, and I do massage with EFT myself. You can specialise in the mind-body connection and help many people with chronic back pain, arthiritis and similar conditions!

MagicMum
welcome to this forum first of all and apologies for not coming back sooner but my computer crashed a few days ago and I am just back on line.
I think that others have already given you very good answers and posted excellent comments. Another solution you could think of is obviopusly life coaching. For that I suggest to take a look at the Life Coaching forum, where if I remember right something on confidence was posted not long ago. But either way the important thing is to do something about it, right? And so, what ever may work with you should be the answer. Take care.

You can download the manual straight away, and those four emails you talk about, are updates to it. Have another look and you will see the manual download section. If you have any trouble, then let me know and I will send it via email to you.

Hi magicmum - I can relate to your lack of confidence. I too qualified in massage and aromatherapy 3 years ago. The only thing that stops me using my new talent is my confidence. When I am in the company of others I always feel that they are better than me. I have all my massage equipment just sat in a room. The thing is it eats away at me all the time that I am wasting myself. I am 45 years old my 2 sons are now working and I feel I need to do something different for myself. I have just had a call to do a massage which I have agreed to but I am absaloutely terrified and have felt sick since the phone call. I know I need to get over this but as you will know yourself it is very difficult.
I wish you lots of luck with your courses and hope you find your confidence to move on. Please let me have any tips for gaining confidence. This forum and the people on it are wonderful and have given me lots of info over the past year but I feel at the end of the day it is up to me to build my confidence which is easier said than done.
Thanks for listening everyone and best wishes
