Question:
I know music is very much a personal preference, but does anyone know of a good source for CDs suitable for playing during massage treatments? When I was at college, the only CD that worked was a rather cheesy one with birdsong and slushy music, which was a bit irritating after a while but seemed to do the trick with clients! On the other hand, I have a client who likes to play her own copy of Rachmaninov's Vespers. Sounds good and has the added advantage of finishing at almost the exact time I should be finishing too...
Any thoughts?
hi,
not sure if you have seen them but in woolworths there are a selection of relaxing cds on a machine you can listen to, loads to choose from- sleep, sea, dophins, celtic, oriental..... only £5.99 each.

Supersub,
I think you're right, music is so personal that what might relax one client might get on another client's nerves!
I have a range of CD's, from classical, to nature sounds (which I'm not a big fan of), to chilled out compilations like Cafe Del Mar (which I LOVE!). My clients are from all ages and backgrounds, so I always ask them what they'd prefer, and if I haven't got it then I ask them to bring along their own CD next time!
I had a client last week who was a professional musician, who told me that she couldn't have any music playing in the background as she'd only try to analyse it!
I have got to say ebay..I have bought quite a few such CD's from the metaphysical section and had some real luck. i have bought some nice CD's for little money..worth a look.
Any thoughts?
