i've just read some articles from the site, and seems that lotus is only good for it's smell and for meditation? abit pricy just for that i think. may be i should have it as one of my x'mas present...
and there was a mention of black jasmin!!!! again, no properties mentioned and i think there's not function to it. but it's so cool....i don't even know jasmin comes in black!
and they've got an article about different coloured mandarin as well:
".....green Mandarin, which she considers a superb oil for use in aromatherapy, is from fruit picked early in the season; lemon-coloured Mandarin is from mid-season fruit and red mandarin from, late-season, ripe fruit. Mandarin is said to be higher in gamma terpinene and to have a lower aldehyde level than Tangerine, and for these reasons the two should not be confused...."

Why not email the supplier for info about the oil/s? After all, if they're selling the stuff, they should know what its properties and applications are. I find it's an excellent way of testing out suppliers, especially for the more unusual oils.

and spiritual. The Ancient Romans and Greeks used it to cure ailments
such as asthma, rheumatism and internal problems. Its purported healing
powers have extended to epilepsy, jaundice, kidney and bladder
complaints and even the plague. It has also been used as an aphrodisiac
and to guard against witchcraft. It is now believed to be a good source
of beneficial negative ions when worn close to or on the skin."

just wondering if you know the contraindication for this oil as well? i emailed the supplier and they never got back to me.
i was taught that we should know the chemical makeup and contraindication before using the oil. maybe i'm just being to careful.

Hi Remedy (more searches)
LOTUS ABSOLUTE, BLUE (Nelumbo Nucifera) - The blue lotus is the lotus of the ether. It is so different than white or pink that one cannot make analogies between them. There is a hint of a very rich precious wood notes that one sometimes finds in true agarwood. It also has some of the character of a non-musty, high, ethereal notes of patchouli. But beyond that is a range of notes that are very clear and penetrating. It is a very potent, heady, absolute. Considered sacred by the Hindus. Used in meditation. It increases clarity, devotion, prosperity and is extremely opening to the third eye. The blue lotus is blue in color and is not to be confused with the blue lotus of Egypt which belongs to the Nymphae genus. It requires approximately 3800 large lotus blossoms to make 1 ounce of absolute. Avoid during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Not to be used on babies or small children.
LOTUS ABSOLUTE, PINK (Nelumbo Nucifera) - The pink is the lotus of the earth. It is a deep reddish brown color. A rich, powdery bouquet with a medicinal note appearing at the top. Behind this is a a soft, ethereal, resinous bouquet. It may be for this reason that Pink Lotus is sacred to Lakshmi Devi the Goddess of Wealth. Considered sacred by the Hindus. Used in meditation. It increases clarity, devotion, prosperity and is extremely opening to the heart chakra. It requires approximately 2850 large lotus blossoms to make 1 ounce of absolute. Avoid during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Not to be used on babies or small children.
LOTUS ABSOLUTE, WHITE (Nelumbo Nucifera) - The white is the lotus of the sky. It is a deep red color. It opening note has a rich, soft, powdery note with very little medicinal accent. Behind this note is one which is even more ethereal than the one found in Pink Lotus, its resinous character is slightly sweeter. It has a very warm, gentle radiance. It is sacred to Saraswati Devi the Goddess of Learning and Wisdom. Considered sacred by the Hindus. Used in meditation. It increases clarity, devotion, prosperity and is extremely opening to the crown chakra. It also requires approximately 2850 large lotus blossoms to make 1 ounce of absolute. Avoid during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Not to be used on babies or small children.
