Colour for therapy room
Question:

Hi,
I've done a few searches, but can't find any info anywhere on the forums about the best colours to decorate a therapy room- we did not cover this on my ITEC Holistic Massage course.
I know you are meant to use calming colours like green, but I am not keen! When I was doing my case studies I used my bedroom which is decorated in terracotta, oranges, yellows with old pine and wicker furniture. Several people commented on how much they liked the room and that it felt safe and cosy. They nearly all fell asleep during my massages, so the colours can't have freaked them out that much.
So, this long winded question is: is it okay to use these colours or is it a no- no?
Thanks for the help! Still waiting for my results- 3 weeks in now- fingers crossed!

When i done my case studies like you i used my bedroom which is an orange/yellow colour with red curtains and it worked really well, i am currently in the process of doing up a room for my therapy room and i have decided to use teracotta and cream for the colour scheme, i think that these colours are calming and earthy and perfect for use in a therapy room.
so go for it!!

Hello
My room is light blue walls with blue and white curtains. Lots of people comment it looks very relaxing. I think blue is cool without looking cold.
Hope that helps.

All those colours sound good - after all, the client is likely to spend most of the time with eyes closed anyway!

Phae I think the best colour for your therapy room is the colour or colours you love to be surrounded by, because if your happy in the environment that will transmit to your lucky clients. My room is a soft peachy terracotta and cream with lots of pink and green accents and I love sitting in there after my clients have left just chilling. I am sure whatever colours you choose your room will look great.

Thanks for all your replies, I feel much more confident about choosing the paint now! I will go with the terracottas/ yellows/ oranges.
