mastoid ops and hopi
Question:

hi everyone :o)
i had a client in today who is interested in ear candling. She had a mastoid operation when she was 6 (now 44!) .. she has one ear syringed on a regular basis, but the hospital wont syringe the ear that was operated on. She says she is fairly deaf in this ear. would it be safe to treat her?
any thoughts welcome [sm=scratchchin.gif]
thanks

I've been trained that the only contraindications to ear candling are grommets in the ears, a perforated ear drum or a seeping infection. So I wouldn't have any problem treating someone with this kind of history. Don't forget that syringing is much more aggressive than ear candling.

Hi Lesley
thanks for the reply ... yes thats what I was taught too ... I figured it was probably ok to treat her ... but it never hurts to get a second oppinion [sm=1syellow1.gif]
I havent been offering this treatment long yet so Im tending to double check everything for now ...better safe than sorry huh!
thanks very much for your help
