Question:
I have been giving myself small doses of reflexology particularly on my hands. I am not sure how long to keep in one spot. do you just work intuitively or is there a set maximum time for each area you may want to work on? also, is it better to work on both sides rather than just one? And, can you work in one particular area only or is it best to work over the whole hand or foot?
anyone give me any helpful tips???
thanx

hi sym,
i suppose self treatments can be different from giving treatments to others, as i would always do a full treatment. however, i have said to clients and shown them various hand reflex points, like solar plexus and large colon.
how long you stay on a point would depend on whether you are doing an on the spot rotation of some pressure or more energy/ linking type work.
if you are using pressure, i'd stay no longer than maybe 7 rotations due to not wanting to overload your body with possible toxins.
as for working both sides, again, depends what you're working on... we only one of some organs!
intuition is also a good thing to work with... if it works for you, it works for you.
anyone give me any helpful tips???
