This lambent creamy white stone that seems to glow and reminds us of the light of the Moon. This attractive semiprecious stone that has been called Moonstone since ancient times, they sometimes show an attractive play of colors and are polished as semiprecious stones. Opalescent albite and iridescent labradorite are also called moonstones.
Oligoclase that includes impurities that cause a shimmering effect is called the Sunstone. Geologists call the Moonstone an 'orthoclase feldspar' which to some extent destroy's the pleasing mystical association! This is a magical stone that is connected with the aged and venerable mother gods that will attract readers interested in paganism and the religions of old.
As far as healing properties are concerned Moonstone claims to have the following:
Moonstone has the energy vibration of 'Yin' The best known of these were yin and yang, they represent the interacting dualities of nature, such as female and male, shadow and light.
Moonstone is a feminine stone that can greatly help women with period pains. Many people claim that the Moonstone also helps with fertility and childbearing. It is a good stone to carry with you when you're pregnant. And for men it will help to stimulate their receptiveness and intuitiveness that can bring around emotional balance.
