Hi Lindsay
I paid £48 for my insurance which covers me for mobile & home work doing reflexology, massage, indian head, reiki & on site chair massage.
Their pricing structure is on their website www.fht.org.uk.

Since I began in business, almost 5 years ago, I have been with Professional Beauty - no problems, had the cover I need. However, I have gradually been adding more holistic treatments and feel that I would like to belong to a professional body that gives me more than just insurance.
I'm looking at joining FHT too as many fellow therapists have recommended them - there's also BABTAC.

Hi Lindsay
Im with professional beauty direct for my holistic therapies. You could get covered for your beauty therapies for £44.50 which to me is good value!
They are very helpful
Hope this helps

Hi All
Thanks for your replys, I did check on their website, but no prices as they are adding these on later....
The problem I found with P/Beauty is that you have to pay additional for Hopi...
FHT seems good value for money and a professiaonl body, I would like Beauty Therapy, plus Reflex and Hopi too...
Thanks

Hi
Yes hopi is extra. I payed i think £52.50 for all my holistics and also hopi. FHT are about £90 a year, with them you get a badge and can write that you are a member after your name. Other than that i think thats about it, oh you also get a magazine a few times a year.
I went with professional beauty because at the time a £40 saving came in very handy!

FHT are a great professional organisation, and their insurance cover is higher than BABTAC and Professional Beauty (a choice of either £3million or £6million, compared to the £2million offered by the others). They are also very thorough with their insurance warranties - be aware that your waxing clients must sign their record cards to prove they have received written aftercare instructions, for example (and you must use the exact wording provided by FHT).
It's good to see they are taking our responsibilities seriously, although ironically I've just switched my insurance from FHT to BABTAC due to FHT's refusal to insure anyone for brazilian waxing - in fact, they had an ill-researched and snotty article about it in the last issue of their member's magazine, which basically concluded that anyone offering it was a liability to themselves and the profession! How to annoy a member in one easy step...! ;)

Hi Guys
Thanks very much for all of your help
I have decided to go with Professioanl Beauty, plus it`s £44.50 plus any additional treatments...
Maybe I shouldn`t say this... BUT - - I personally was all for BABTAC insurance , member the lot, and thought it was a professional company, but reading the public forum the slanging matches that go on there, it doesn`t seem to be montitored at all, so I do question them as a company..maybe it`s a charity based company...
Bue Professional Beauty it is!!!
Thanks for all of your reply`s...

Hi Lindsay,
I have to say I'm in agreement with you there - BABTAC's public forum has descended into chaos recently and so far they don't seem too bothered about doing anything about it. If it wasn't for the fact that I'd already sent in my application, I'd be seriously thinking twice about joining. A great shame, as the board used to be a good place to pick up advice. I know of at least one friend who has emailed BABTAC and I'm going to do the same this week, so fingers crossed things will improve :)

Have to agree with you there on the BABTAC forum, it is a total shambles.
I have been with FHT's insurance for some time (although I believe they have "outsourced" it to someone else, name escapes me) and I find that they are very good and professional.
